Many pilots of the time were the opinion that a fighter pilot in a closed cockpit was an impossible thing, because you should smell the enemy. You could smell them because of the oil they were burning.

No offense, but you seem very naive (I can think of worse words) in that subject. Because a company is located in United States doesn't mean it can only be made by American nationals. And you forget that GM has a large presence in Germany with Opel. Auto industry is very international and guess what, even European cars are made with American talents and technology in more ways that you'll know. Cough, Koenigsegg, cough.

Koenigsegg used to have an american engine from Ford but thats it.Its not an american built supercar.
And i never said that USA didnt have american people with talent.

The engine is as Sweedish as I am Korean. The company which designed and built the engine in each Koenigsegg through the CCR is about 40 miles from my home. They engineered the engine that is in the CCX, and Koenigsegg assemble it "locally" with a large amount of "american blue-coller engineering" in it.

Your entiire premise was wrong though.
The ZR1 is already completed and built and on sale - just because a German-national is involved in the process of final road testing does NOT make the car "German Engineered"
Please go elsewhere to start your nonsense.

I think Spiffu pretty much summed this one up.
Who'd a thunk companies would hire people from different countries?!?!
