Default Anyone watching the Cricket World Cup?

Just wondering if anyone's watching the cricket world cup...

Being a South African, I was so chuffed to see Herschelle Gibbs hit an over full of sixes. Thats 6 sixes in a row, for those of you who don't know much about cricket. Here's footage of it...

Quite incredible really! It's a world cup record.

So, who are you supporting, and how many members watch cricket. The world cup is the best time to start watching if you aren't a follower already.

SA play Australia on saturday and it's going to be as good as a final, cause they're ranked number 1 & 2 in the world.

Yeah... it was awesome! I really love watching the "mino's" play the big boys of cricket!

Shame to hear about Pakistans coach... They found him dead in his room after pakistan were effectively knocked out of the world cup. Very suspsicous - no-one knows if it was a murder or suicide

In my opinion, I think a bookie is responsible.... Lets wait and see!

Ireland have done really well in the World cup so far, and as for Bandladesh beating India... well thats just incredible!

Anyway - enjoy the world cup!

Ah cricket. A pity the Cricket World Cup is not shown on free-to-air television here. I reckon South Africa will choke, again. They just can't handle being good.

A bit contradictory there.

^^ True, but I was talking about sport in general, they are pretty good in racing.

But Test driver for Red-Bull is Robert Doornbos, he's really good! Better then that Christijan Albers thats for sure

^^ Don't know, they are farely good in many sports but what buggers me is that they always think they have won it even before they have participated.. They think they are better then everyone else..

Can't handle being good hey....? South Africa managed to set the highest score in world cricket recently (438) - playing against the second best team in the world - Australia! South Africa has had bad luck the last 3 world cups - Now it's time for their luck to change. Everyone is writing off SA - as chokers - just watch out for them, they'll be in the final!

Well it's now official... Pakistan coach murdered for his side losing....!

Woolmer's murder shocking

23/03/2007 07:32 - (SA)

Bridgetown, Barbados - The strangling murder of Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer has and will continue to overshadow the World Cup.
After four days of treating Woolmer's death as suspicious but stopping short of calling it murder, Jamaica police on Thursday confirmed a homicide investigation had been launched.

Police said Woolmer showed no signs of life when he was found by cleaning staff at a Kingston hotel on Sunday, the morning after Pakistan's humiliating loss to Ireland.

Rumours of strangulation spread across the Caribbean from Wednesday evening but it was not until a late news conference on Thursday in the hotel where Woolmer died police revealed he had been strangled.

International Cricket Council chief executive Malcolm Speed said the World Cup would continue as planned.

"Sadness has now been replaced with a profound sense of shock at the news that his death is being treated as murder," Speed said.

"This is not the first time that tragedy has visited a sporting event but what we must all do now is to show how resolute the game is by proving ourselves strong enough to move on from what has happened."
