Default Vista visuals in XP

I'm not yet prepared to shift to Windows Vista but I really like the visual treatment used in Vista. I saw this site and they offer a 'bricopack' for Windows XP. Has anyone ever tried this? Does it damage any system files?

I've installled the vista inspirat package on my pc, and I've had no problems... As far as I can tell it hasn't altered any of my system files. I also tried uninstalling the package and my previous xp settings resumed with no hassles.

Quite a cool little mod, especially if you're getting bored with the standard XP Skin.

why was this response so predictable? The thread starter decided to discuss WIndows XP/Vista with like minded individuals... not try start a Windows vs Gay Mac User bashing session...

As a so called "mature adult member and contributor to JW" couldn't you come up with a better contribution than this vindictive inciteful comment you did?

It is time this above type shit gets cleaned up from JW and actual quality control be put back in place.

Damn this place is degrading into a schoolyard... its gettig so every thread is being turned into a VS thread....

He was just stating the obvious... as many have mentioned before, the Aero Glass theme in Vista is a direct hit to OSX's GUI.

I'm still considering whether or not I want to install Vista Ultimate or just XP Pro on the new PC I plan on building.. I'll have to see if I can get it cheap from my University or from work..

M$ has definitely made it better too. I can't stand navigating in OSX. The new address bar alone in Vista is almost worth upgrading

BTW how do you reconcile your drugged up "music career" with your squeaky clean "medical career" - which one did you use to placate your family and your wife?

^ Damn.

Anyways I used this Brico pack about 10 months ago....or when it first came out. It is pretty good and I dont think I had any problems with it such as virus or any of that mess. Uninstall was sorta a bad but nothing too terible. Also the only real problem I had was I kept getting filmstrip view for about all my folders and I wanted either detail, thumbnail or anything else it goes but if I exit the folder or restart windows it goes back to the filmstrip view. Maybe they got this fixed? Hope ya like the new look.

Yeah. A penguin is a lot more likeable than a...window? with colorful panels? and it's flying? wtf? what kind of logo is that? What is this? Now the window frame's gone? You have just the window panels floating in the air? What, they're still flying?

haha. you are by far the most boring person on this forum. nothing to say, anything you do say...is sort of like listening to dementia-meets-schizo nonsense. LOL.

get well soon.
boring? is that all you have?

you are a spineless backboneless liar.

you broke GM's embargo and then didnt have the balls to face up to it.

not only that - you didnt even have the common decency to thank me when I took the heat for it - financially and profesisonaly.

you are worse than boring - pathetic comes to mind.

Why must every thread become a RC45 vs. someone battle?

Did I miss something? This is the second or third time I have seen this mentioned. What are you on about? If this is a private matter between the two of you then forget I said anything but as I have seen this a few times, my curiosity has gotten the better of me.

wtf?

where is it "rc45 vs everyone"?

are you everso? or is everso everyone?

this punk tried to trash this thread, and when asked to move on decided to attack another member.. myself.

everysince he fucked me over regarding the GM C6Z06 picture embargo for some reason he has chosen to be a cunt towards me - and it is very angering.

Not only did he screw me over and leave me to take the heat from General Motors in a HUGE way, leaving me to negotiatie and extricate myself from possible litigation with the biggest and arguably most powerful company in the world - he never ever had the decency to either appologise for the shit he caused or thank me for taking the heat from him.

that makes him 'not a decent person" in my book.

to then go out of his way to be an arsehole to me every chance he gets on JW is further insult added to injury.

But if his type of behaviour is what gets your rocks off then more power to you.

My only mistake EVER was to to refuse to roll over on his arse and turn hi over GM... something I figured would be"the right thing to do" - in retrospect I should have just given them his name and let them drill him into the ground - but thats not how I conduct my life.

Oh - and the other reason I didnt turn him over?

To prevent JW from being dragged into the whole ordeal... I stupidly thought you selfish fuckers would appreciate the gesture.. but sadly that actoin also fell on deaf ears - to date I think Jabba was one of the few people who apprecaited me not dragging th entire community down over eversos cowardice.

Bah - who cares - you people obviosuly don't.

See above - it used to be "private" - when I figured I was doign the "right thing" by not ratting him out... but I really don't care any more...

essentially some 'GM insider' gave everso confidential images of the C6 Z06 and he leaked them to the public via me and JW... as he was too chicken to post the images himself... and fooled me into believing he would be man enough to take the heat if the aciton ever came back to roost.. and it did - big time - GM took me head on and tried to put the squeeze on me - and all he did was shrink into the shadows... then start to get a HUGE attitude for no reason.

Really poor character if you ask me.
*shrug*
