Agreed! I've seen some hideous 20" spinners on too many old shitty cars, in such bad taste that it's distracting sometimes.

As much as I dislike such rims, there is no reasonable basis for their banning.

With you there,

Spinners are visual distractions that could kill you in the right circumstances ... grills would just give zombie-hickies

Actually..
Theres more to it then visual distraction. I'm not sure the law makers are bright enough to get it, but spinners severely hurt handling. For one they add unsprung weight, and for two they can unbalance the wheel. Coupled with 20 inch rims and 1980s impalas you have an accident waiting to happen. Then again.. Just like seat belt laws.. Who is the government to stop darwin from doing his job.

Although I could care less about spinners, I really don't see the point in banning them. I don't think there are any safety issues at stake, so what gives?

I also don't know why some people have such a dislike for car customization either, don't they realize its a billion dollar industry which is good for the economy? I can agree with certain laws on car customizing to some extent, like the car is too low or has flamethrowers on it, but this is stupid. These people need to get a hobby of their own and stop bothering others.

I think the main thing against spinners is the visual distraction that they cause. When they came out here old people were complaining alot about them because they caused them to get confused. It might actually pass, will be interesting to see what insues.
