Default RAC Rally - Alpine, AM, Ferrari, Jag, Maserati......

Today there was a Rally to celebrate 100 years of the RAC - some 500 cars took part. However most of them were really old timers, which don't interest me much, so not that many pics really. :bah:

Anyway there were a few cars which made it worth attending.....

All the high-res pics can be viewed on my website  www.ozcarsightings.com

Alpine GTA V6

A nice collection of Aston Martins, and damn is the Lagonda an ugly thing.

There were quite a few E-Types in attendance also...

Then this Byfield XJS-HE Jaguar - no idea what its all about, but it has a V12.

Jaguar XK120

Ferrari 360 Spider, the only Ferrari there. I was expecting a 250 Lusso but it didn't show.

Maserati Indy

Bentley Azure

All the high-res pics can be viewed on my website  www.ozcarsightings.com

Some great pics Dingo. I really like that combo shot of the DB5's. And the same goes for the side shot of the XK120. No pics of the cars in action?

Any more info about that special XJS?

Nope, I was planning on going in the morning to see them drive to this venue but got a better offer (ride in a Ferrari 328GTS, even though I've been it before I never get tired of it)

I tried to Google it but came up with nothing. The owner also didn't seem to be around at the show, so no chance to ask questions.

^^^
I also didn't found anything with a quick search.

As for the Ferrari ride: it sure is always nicer having a ride in a nice car than watching them drive by

Its a shame, I would like to know more about it. I would say that car was drawing the biggest crowd - looked awesome!

Oh and I just saw some coverage on news and apparently 750 cars were there......I can't count that high so I just said 500.

Quite a nice event and what a sunny day! Today I had a photoshoot with a couple of cars and the fog was so tick that even traveling at 120 kmh was SCARY!

BTW, the Lagonda is IMO ice cool!
You got a nice pic of that Indy, too bad the wheels are turned the wrong side :bah: not your fault. Like the Sebring, it's a rare sight!

I thought it looked great, from the front especially.

As much as it hurts to say this, I am getting kind of bored of the 360. :bah:

.....

BTW, I'm surprised by the many many Renaults you're posting in your topics dingo - never thought I could find the A110, A610 or R5 Turbo in Australia, as you've posted
Do you know any more about the Jag?

There was actually a big French Car meeting last weekend but I couldn't make it - would've been a few more beauties there I think.

*bump*

I just found some information about the byfield yellow Jag, Cliff Byfield is an 83 year old Perth man who builds luxury cars in his own backyard

An interview (they're also talking about the car) : http://www.abc.net.au/stateline/wa/c...5/s1489243.htm

Great detective work!!

Interesting stuff, I should have seen that on TV myself - need to start watching Stateline more often.

Thanks.
