Default Ten of the Best IV

Here are my pics of Ten of the Best IV, held at some airfield in North England. The event is set up to find the fastest road legal car in Britain, at least out of the contenders, by doing ¼ miles, top speed runs and a handling course.

You can find all about the trip over here: http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29288

So let’s start with the pics:

This is how the tarmac looked after some of the cars started to do their ¼ mile run. And yes there were some 9 second cars

Really nice way to dress the roof of your car in the UK:

Not all went great for everyone though. This is what happened to one of the GT-R owners: his carbon fibre bonnet came of around 180 mph:

Luckily he could borrow a bonnet from one of the other GT-R owners

Skylines GT-R:

An insane R34 GT-R Nür:

Some other non GT-R Skylines:

EVO VIII MR:

Apparently not that exclusive cause a few metres further there were 5 of them parked, under which 2 FQ-400's and 2 FQ-320's. Sadly I didn't got them all in one pic:

Rest of the EVO's:

TME Editions:

Nissan Pulsar/Sunny GTI-R:

350Z:

Mazda RX-7:

Mitsu FTO and 3000GT:

Toyota Supra:

Scoobies:

Vipers:

Porsche 996 GT3:

Porsche 996 GT2:

Porsche 993 GT2:

Porsche 993 Turbo S:

Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6:

TVR Cerbera:

Caterham 7:

Delta Integrale:

Escort Cossie:

E46 M3 Cabrio:

E39 M5:

So a Golf GTI isn't fast enough, why not place an Audi 5L Turbo in the back?

Audi Quattro:

Volvo V70R:

Girls (the warmer it got the more clothes they were putting on and these were taken around noon, so they had already more clothes on):

Brilliant stuff - a nice collection of 911's which is always nice! The Turbo S is great, probably the best colour for a 993TT. The rear wing on that 993 GT2 is tiny - disappointing.

Oh and those last two pics are great - can only imagine what they were wearing earlier.

This "Ten of the Best IV" event seems really cool judging by the diversity of the cars.

When a see all these turbocharged cars (R34,GT2,EVO VI,Ur Quattro, Escort Cosworth...) I think this event should be called "Turbo Fest IV".

Thanks for those cool pix Wutputt !

^^^
Turbo powered cars are apparently more suited for fast 1/4 mile runs in the UK.

hehe

As far as I can remember (but maybe that's just a personal interpretation of the reality) they were only wearing those shortpants, those tops (not sure this is the correct English word) and boots
