Default A very late thread - Pictures from Geneva car show 2005

Well, since I only registed recently, I couldn't possibly have posted these pics before, but since peopel asked from them, here they are =)

I unfortunately don't have the time to make thumbnails right now, something came up and I gotta finish some work related stuff tonight =(

But here's the link to the pictures and a few commentaries:
http://www.catgirlsparadise.com/images/salon2005
1: slr's parked outside the car show
2-7: mostly MB's
8-10: bmw's
11: aston
12 to 35 are the new NC Miata (taken in order to provide some pics for members of miata.net, a really fun board also with some very knowledgeable people).
Pictures 36 to 43 are Brabus cars.
43 - 50: Klemann and other MB/Smart tuners.
51-60: crazy tuned up cars (porsches, smarts, and some VERY powerful cars)
61-66: FAB design, a Swiss tuner for MB with SL and SLK (SLK has 500hp)
67-72: ferrari, audi, lambo
73 and 74: lotus and a DJ car

I also went a second day, so more pics from the second day:
http://www.catgirlsparadise.com/images/salon2005/more
1-3: slr/maybachs parked outside the car show
4-10: more miata NC pics and a movie
11-13: misc tuned up cars (check out the cayenne)
14-21: more fab design (I love their lambo door for the MB's, very professional... but I know, it's not a lambo )
22-26: ferrari stand
27-32: zonda/lambos
33: Fab design SL
34-44: the really cool Brabus SLR, these pics do it justice
45-48: silly smart stuff (my gf likes the car, so be nice, ok lol )
49-58: MB stuff (Yes, I'm a fan... plus I got free VIP pass to the MB lounge area)

And finally, the highlight of the show, the part that made me COMPLETELY spooge my pants, was the part where my MB dealer got me access to the McLaren lounge, the VIP area, with a full 30 MINUTE DEMONSTRATION on the SLR. I so, so LOVE this car, it's incredible how PERFECT the finish is. I really admire Enzo, Porsche GT, but having seen the interior and engine bay of the other two cars, the SLR just BLOWS them away (ok, this is my opinion, please don't hurt me ). I just love this car, it's MY dream car. Maybe not the most powerful, not the cheapest, not the fastest, but it's perfect for me.
So pics 59 to 63 are pics and movies of the SLR. Yep, I sat in that car alright, and the demonstration from the McLaren guy was MIND blowing, I love him, I could almost... ok, almost... err... maybe not. I guess I could kiss him for what he did, lol! But seriously, top british guy, two thumbs up =)

Also, if anybody wants them, here's the link to the pics from last years car show. Sorry, no comment as the pics are too old and I really don't have time. I apologize for this

GrGreat to see some other Geneva pics

I see you take pics of technical stuff (engines, brakes, transmissions, etc.) too. Finally somebody who does the same thing as me Even my petrol headed friends call me a freak when I'm taking pics of engines, brakes, etc. on motor shows. I just find those things really interesting, especially the open view engines and transmissions.

Hopefully I'll have some more pics next year

I always try to go twice (or more) to the car show. If anyone ever wants 'detailed' pics of a car, feel free to ask me, I can take pics from under the seats and stuff, it's no problem, lol (already done it for the Miata and SLK forums).

Too bad the next car show is in about 10 months time

I definitely know what you mean about the SLR. First time i saw one, the only thing i though was "Screw everything, that's the car for me." Of course it wasn't standing beside an enzo or i might have though differently, but the car is undeniably charming. And since you have the slk55, the slr is the natural next car to buy
