Default the torgue of slr

the slr and the 55 amg models of mercedes uswes the same engine. 5.5 with kompressor. well the slr produces 626 bhp instead of 500 (SL) 476 (E) and without kompressor (354) why slr produces 700 newtonmeter sort of torque but 1000 sort of torque. mercedes has cars which has 1000 newtonmeter of torque? I think slr should be the car who has that much torque

I don't know exactly what you are saying/asking but it's not the same enigne in any of these cars that you are mentioning. it's actually different engines in all of these cars.

The CL 65 and S 65 from AMG have 1000 Nm of torque at 2000-4000 rpm. The maximum torque level is actually 1200 Nm, but it is electronically controlled (or should we say detuned?) to avoid breaking the gear box.

i think the reason they used the supercharged V8 instead of the TT V12 is weight, i have no numbers to go by so i could be 100% wrong. but i am assuming that the V12 would be heavier and since its HP output is about the same the SLR doesnt need all the torque being lighter than the CL S and SL 65's. (not that any car really needs 738 ft-lbs )

so they were more concerned to keep the weight down in certain areas. plus its a racing car when driven as such, the revs will be kept in the higher RPMs and the torque from 2-4k rpm will not really be used all that much.

i think i answered your question.
