2006 BAR, McLaren, Renault and Ferrari livery
With the tabacco sponsor bans slated for the '06 sesaon, i'm wondering how the teams who are using these sponsors are going to adapt their cars.
Specifically Ferrari. I just can't picture anything else written on the rear wing element, nose, or the engine cover.
BAR is going to look a little weird without the red and black circle as well as the McLarens without their main sponsor. the Renaults i think will actually look better without their tobacco ad.

well in the case of ferrari i dont mind at all, i mean lets just pray they'll go for an all-red car (ofcourse with sponsoring but i mean without those huge white fields on their cars)
If im not mistaken, the BA part from BAR comes from British American Tobacco, if that's their main sponsor they'll be in trouble... (does BAT have anything to do with lucky strike???)
McLaren will still be the silver arrow, Mercedes being their real main sponsor (they have a 40% share in McLaren). I dont think Renault will change alot

The solution is simple : they won't run in the countries where ads for Tabacco is banned

I hope they won't do that cause then they won't come to Canada any more.

there already was a little dispute in china over this issue, obviously it was resolved somehow since the race takes place there in two weeks.
and i think BAT manufacture Lucky Strike. or at least import them. BAR is the chassis maker for the honda team, the way williams is the chassis maker for bmw. at least that is how i figure it, i could be wrong though.

hopefully, if McLaren can get some reliability in both their cars to last the whole race, they will be ok

we all know that no matter who sponsors ferrari, it will still be red. i think they have the right to being red. anyways everyone recognises the triangle as marlboro without the lettering. also there were rumours of coca cola sponsoring, don't know where that has led to now

all malboro is going to do is make the car look like a pack of smokes... nothing else on it.. unless they are in countries that are tobacco freindly.
BAR... hmmm a nice bullseye on the side of the car might do the trick...
Its funny thought.. all the teams agree to let tobacco advertizing go buy 06 but you knew that they would back down and change their minds on it..
As for Canada.. molson money.. for 2 teams.. i kind of find it a joke that 3 teams can hold a race hostage over money for tobacco advertizing.. Jordan.. Ferrari.. and Mclaren.. I did not include BAR as honda was willing to fork over the extra cash to get rid of the livery for the race. Jordan doesnt really have any power.. so that leaves 2 teams controlling the rest of the paddock... no wonder they cant ever get anything sorted out. Bernie should jsut state the new rules and be done with it
