Well I know Adobe Premier can edit vids, but I am not sure it is simple to use. I haven't have the time to do this. First I have to film my own stuff, then I will be interested in such things. But if someone comes with a good program, I might start sooner.

PC based NLVE has been a hobby of mine for a number of years now... and I have tried many of the main stream apps... I keep going back to Premiere.

It is just so intuative to use.

Vegas is ok for some things, but a little different in approach - although by no means low-end, and has awesome multi-thread/multi-processor support.

Currently I use Vegas for DV capture, Premiere 6 for DV based video editing and Premiere 5.1c for Analog captured editing.

I prefer the way Premiere handles the audio track - but then again Vegas has the ability to allow transitions between any video-stream pair, where as Premiere only has provision for transitions betwwen the And B video streams.

The latest Premiere (V7) named Premiere Pro brings Premiere back to the top opf the pile again, but I am not gonna switch from 6 just yet.

Install mIRC then go to ircspy.com or packetnews.com and search. From here on in it is pretty much a click and download affair. mIRC will automatically connect to the correct server and channel, and the appropriate command will be copied to your clipboard.

NOTE: Make sure mIRC does not ignore any file extensions for DCC transfers, disable the "Turn ignore back on" feature, and select Auto-get file and if file exists resume.

You can use Pinnacle Studio too, it's not too complicated. You also have Windows Movie Maker, it's free but not very elaborated, it depends what you're looking for.

VirtualDub is ok for quick and dirty, but managing a DVD project with 20 odd captures, 10's of titles and transional, movements and audio manipulations are not really it's strong point...
