Default MetallicA later this week

unfortunately, tickets went on sale several months ago for the show that was closest to me... and sold out much before i could gather that much extra cash to see them. they are one of the best performance bands in existance, and love going to thier shows. i was quite bummed when it was sold out...
around 5pm on monday, i was informed that my roommate just won 2 tickets to see MetallicA at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids Michigan on thursday... im getting excited... but somehow, it seems quite eclipsed by TT's experience. nonetheless, im looking forward to my 3rd time seeing them....
looks to be exciting
sometimes contests do show thier results... just very limited results

whoa! you've met the band, St-anger!!!!
i figured you were a fan with an alias such as yours! i dont think ill be able to meet them... but hopefully. mabey eventually. i do have one interesting story of the one big band i met on accident

i was driving to a local record store through the back way in the ally, and there was a limo, and who happend to be getting out but Megadeth!!!! i had 'peace sells but who's buying' in the car, and my yearbook.... yeah, Dave and the boys signed my senior HS yearbook!!!

sounds like it will be a killer show, thanks for the list, possesed beaver! the previous 2 shows ive been to they opened with thier best as well (blackend) and most definately cool to hear thier last song written w/jason in the band.

yep, i´ve been a die hard fan since ever, sounds weird, i know, the busy engineer dealing with the high sophisticated tech stuff is listening to such a music...
if you like i can provide you with some backstage pics from the show last year, although i´ve to admitt that they´re of a kinda crappy quality since i took them with a std digi-cam, because i don´t wanted to take my 1500€ digi cam with me
just let me know and i´ll see what i can do...

i get a lot of the opposite view from people... i look like a die hard metal/ hippie... but then people find out im an engineering major, love cars, build computers... etc. i think its the hippie hair that does it tho lol

here they are...

pics

just some quick explanations,

pics #1 and 7 are on the way to the pits where the whole backstage thing went on, the concert took place at the Salzburgring, a racetrack you might know of the RUF R50 presentation...

the guy from pics #2,5 and 6 is a close friend of mine, and as you can see we were absolutely among the granddads , 80% kidz and just some of the above 30 club

b4 you ask, NO i´m not on any of these pics, i´ve tons of pics my friend took of me and the guyz , but i´d like to stay unknown here on the internet, even here at JW, hope you understand...

keep it loud...

thats perfectly fine, and respect that decision thanks for the pics

your keep it loud statement reminds me of one ive been adorned to since i play guitar... 'play loud'
on my modified fender, ive got my 'loud' 'louder' and 'loudest' pickups all by name, when i get it back together, ill see if i post some pictures

the fan club isnt so bad... 50$+ usd per year for 4 mags of 'so what!' and pre-ticket sales... and a chance to win tickets to shows given that you can make it to them... and a chance to get backstage with a lottery..... St-anger, how is it you get back there, are you friends with a local promoter?

no i´m not i in the same "lottery" system as any other member...
but you needn´t actually "win" this lottery, ´cause my friend i´ve mentioned is a clubber too, but he didn´t get the conformation mail from the club, so he wasn´t on the list they´ve got at the Met-club stand at the concert, he just asked if it´s possible to join as well, we´ve shown them our club card, and they just said "no problem..." so there where many other kidz too without the clud ID and asked, but they only received a "sorry no..."
so i´m quite confident that i´ll make it backstage even without winning the "lottery" just with my club card....we´ll see

just reding details of the new stage setup...
and WOW info:

Here are some details regarding the tour!
- Stage: 80 m wide, 50 m depth and 20 m high
- 250.000 Watts power for the PA System
- 1.000.000 Watt power for the Light System
- 44 vehicles between TIR and tour busses for the carriage of riggings, pa & light system, gear and the whole crew
- 1 mechanical crane with 46 m long arm to built up the stage
- 200 people requested as local crew helping to built up the stage
- 1400 kg ice requested
- 7 fridges
- 500 towels for the crew
-48 towels for the band (strictly... BLACK!)

There will be two stages and two different crew travelling around! That means a lot of people!

As they began in the last summer tour, went on during the winter tour and as they are continuing in the actual American leg, the band will put in the set list songs they are not playing since ages (like Metal Militia, no more played since 1985) or never played before (Dyers Eve)

fucking awsome, i rely liked the stage they had for "cunning stunts"

very similiar just bigger it seems

i rely liked during cumming stunts when jason got on the 2nd drum set and started playing hahahaha - he diden't seem that bad either!!!
