Default Formula One cars -vs- road cars...

I know of 2 races I've seen of this sort (a kind of handicap race - I find them very interesting indeed)

I remember seeing this video some years ago:

-It was Miki Hakkenen in his Mercedes-McLaren Formula One -vs- a 1995 Porsche 911 (993) Carrera (driven by Martin Brundle) -vs- a Peugeot 306. (driven by a Porsche Supercup champion)

The little Peugeot would leave first...then 20 seconds later, the 911 would leave...then another 50 seconds then the F1 car would try to beat them to the finish line.

Another one I saw was:

-David Coultard in his Mercedes-McLaren Formula One -vs- a Mercedes E55 -vs- a Mercedes A160............

p.s

Does anyone else remember a race they've seen like this one?

Or even better - does anyone know of a downloadable video showing a race like these ones

Even if its Car-vs-Plane...that's fine.

yes i have actualy seen them all, ofcorse they are all timed to let the F1 car win,
i have also seen one with jeremy clarkson, ina ford cougar, vs. a rally car vs. a formula 1 car, that was the best so far IMO

because they demenstrated the importance of courner speed.

i have also seen MS take on the euro jet.. and get beaten!!! hahah

aswell as several other formula 3000 cars vs. jets

Sounds interesting - where did you find that one? (jabbasworld? racingflix? etc. etc)

You should send it in mate.

I've heard of the 1st one you mentioned - that's from one of Clarkson's tapes isn't it...

I did manage to see the Eurofighter race Schumacher.

Its always the way: the shorter the race -the better for the car, the longer the race - the better for the jet.

ie. Jets start off slow, cars start off fast & jets get better while cars slow down.

p.s

Did you download the clarkson one or did you buy the tape?

Hey - you guys from 'the land of OZ' (such as myself ) probably remember seeing Allan Moffat at Albert Park race a formula one car in his roadcar -vs- a V8 supercar.

p.s

Just a few weeks ago, I was at an airshow at an airfield called Tyabb in Victoria. They had all the P-51 Mustangs from all over Australia (7) fly down for the day. First time in 50 years they've had all our Mustangs in the one place at the same time!!!!

Anyway, -getting to the point- Allan Moffat raced an aerobatic plane in his old Mustang Car...I think the plane just beat him.

It's actually an E50, not an E55 in that clip with the Mclaren Mercedes vs. the E-class vs A-class....

I haven't seen the Clarkson one or the Hakkinen/Brundle/Supercup Champion one, but if someone has them I'd be more than happy to try and figure out a trade of some sort
