Yeah, I have downloaded that before. I still would like to know what are all the mods he has on that truck. No one I have talked to has known anything about that truck. So if you know please tell me.

Soot isn't that extremely bad for the environment. It's just that you can actually see it, unlike the more toxic exhaust fumes of say top class dragsters.....

I think it was something like: a big ass turbo, 5" exhaust, propane- and nitrous-injection.....

It could have a banks power pack...Banks is one of the best diesel tuners on the market, go to www.bankspower.com if you want to check it out
Also check out the banks side winder project on that website, its the fastest pickup in the world at 220mph! They do a comparison of this truck with the Enzo its pretty interesting...

It really doesn't take a whole lot to get impressive numbers on a diesel engine. Just software upgrades can add 150HP and 200+ lb-ft torque. Odds are, this truck has a Banks or similar system as well as propane injection. Propane is used in diesels liek nitrous is used in gas engines. It's probably not out of line to think that this truck is probably putting out close to 700HP and probably close to 1000lb-ft of torque.

Diesel actually has a lot more particulate matter than exhaust from gas engines, mainly due to the fact that diesel is a less-refined product than gasoline. But, diesel engines are more efficient and produce more power from a given amount of fuel so the good outweighs the bad somewhat. Diesel technology is taking huge leaps forward though and many modern diesel engines with lower sulfur fuel are running many times cleaner than older diesels. i'd liek to see more diesel-powered vehicles brought to the US. The European market has diesel versions of many of the cars sold there. In the US, all we have are the VW TDI Jetta, Beetle, Golf, and now the Passat and Touareg. M-B is releasing a diesel version of the E-Class sedan soon I believe also, called the E320 CDI. we're still a long way off from the multitude of high-tech diesel options available overseas.

We are also getting an Audi A8 diesel and a PT Cruser Diesel in the next few years I believe.

Yeah, that diesel in the A8, if we do get it, is the same as the V-10 TDI in the VW Touareg. The VW Phaeton will get that engine for sure. I hadn't heard of the US A8 getting it as well, but it's definitely not out of line to believe so. That's a pretty sweet engine, it's smaller than all the domestic full-size pickup diesels and it makes similar power. Wonder what this means for the future of these domestic truck diesels since they'll start to be outgunned by "car" engines if they don't continue to evolve and gain power.
I beleive a diesel PT Cruiser may be sold here sometime. I've seen stories of diesel-powered Grand Cherokees also. A lot of manufacturers are looking to diesel engines in SUVs and cars in order to keep the performance reasonable while still giving good mileage.
