Default 2008 Audi RS4 to get 450HP

Responding fast to the M3...
In June, citing AutoCar as the source, we reported that the 414 horsepower producing Audi RS4 is out of production. Apparently, that was a false rumor. Confirmed by Patrick Hespen, Audi’s Media Relations and Motorsport Specialist, that rumor was completely untrue.

There will be a full build of the 2008 model year RS4 sedan, and production is still continuing. Audi has indeed said that the RS4 will have a 2-yr model run, 2008 being that second year. Well Audi has something up its sleeves for 2008.

According to MotorTrend, Audi is working on a more powerful 2008 Audi RS4 that will produce 450 horsepower. The new Audi RS4 joins Mercedes, with its 2008 450 horsepower C63 AMG, to take on the new 420 horsepower BMW M3.

The 450 horsepower is expected to roll out in fall of 2008. Come on BMW, step it up a little in the horsepower segment.

I told this since 2 years on this forum that there will be an B7 RS4 possibly called RS4 "Plus" of 450hp. According to my source who works for Quattro GmbH, the 450hp engine of this model RS4 "Plus" is already present in the actual RS4 DTM pace car.

Here two pictures of the actual DTM RS4 pace car took by Darkel...thanks buddy for them.

Among the 3 german automakers Audi & Benz probably have the best looking sport sedans in the market today. BMW's current M3 looks so porky.

Isn't it just a normal rs4 engine with some electronic modifications? What will the other bits and bobs be?

The RS6+ over the RS6 had:
+30hp
0,1sec faster to 62mph
gunmetal rims
radiators behind intercoolers (also on "warm weather package")
SS suspention, 1cm lower
sports exhaust
no chrome package (black optics)
perforated discs
175mph electronic speed limiter
plate by gearshifter
metal pedals
RNS-E DVD navi (not CD based, also on late model rs6)

Me too.

The RS4 is winning plenty of 'vs' in its current form over the "new" m3 so doesn't really need to 'respond'.

Anyway, I'll not complain about a 450bhp version

I really wouldn't want to be someone with a 2007 RS4. It would suck getting an awesome car and then have it outdone by the next model year.
