the owner:
I was very pleased with the NOS, I have never had NOS installed in any of my cars ever, but I figured I would give it a shot. So my brother ASR Engineering (Abid) in conjunction with Active Auto put together the NOS kit for the M5. My brother did the install and then Active help create the software to make sure the car ran safely with the NOS. I wil get Omar at Active to post the Dyno sheet.....
So far with my personal experience the M5 seems to love the NOS and according to the Dyno graph it is safe with a 100 shot and the Active ECU tune. From testing on the Dyno you can run the NOS without the Active ECU tune but ASR Engineering doesn't recommend it. He says the Active Tune makes running the NOS very safe and reliable. They tuned my car currently and is good for street use without NOS and also with NOS.
Also I was able to run a buddy of mine with the stock M5 with an X-pipe (MiamiM5) and we ran several times from 60-150 and by 150mph I have a car length on him. Also keep in mind I am running a 20 inch wheels during that test vs. a stock 19 inch wheel (MiamiM5). I have some video but the quality is very poor since we filmed at night.
For those of you that felt the ECU doesn't make a difference now there is proof it does, I will tell you most of the differnce in power is felt from 60mph and up

they had a engine problem at the beginning, not anymore. And those problems never happen to owners. Now they just got VANOS problems

That burnout was cool, the engine sounds nice like that. Pretty damn quick, but despite the assurances that the NOS is completely safe...I still wouldn't risk that on a $90,000 car. :fadein:

The E60 M5 should run low to mid 12s, although I have not seen anyone compare 1/4 mi times with/without launch control engaged.
From the sound of it, this run did not use launch control, as it pretty much bogged off the line. That being said, the fastest stock Z-06 times I've seen so far used this kind of laucnh as well...
BTW, awesome sound on that car. It sounded louder than stock??

It has enough power.. it just needs to loose some weight
I wonder just how reliable it will be..
