are you saying bmw's engines are weak?
i hapen to prefer n/a over force feed.
a well tuned and well balanced n/a is much more reliable and in some cases can be much faster than a turbo of the same power characteristics.
i'm sure audi has its reasons for going towards the n/a route.
reliabilty (not that they were bad before)
daily driving ease
and perhaps cost?
i dont know... but i prefer it in the larger heavier models.

seriously this car looksw great, its mean looking, but still not a attention whore it got everything a RS car should have exept from a twin turbo setup......

One thing I wonder is why do you say a well tuned and well balanced when talking about a NA engine, dont you think a FI engine are just that too......the strains put on a FI engine are just the same if not higher than on a NA engine so they need to very well balanced and tuned.....A turbo engine can be just as reliable as a N/A engine if you start to push the envolope both a FI and NA engine loose some of its reliability......
On your comment about a NA being much faster than a FI engine when they got the same power characteristics, you are just dead wrong....if they are the same they are the same 100 FI hp give you just the same speed as 100 NA hp does.....the difference are a FI engine often give you more power earlier.....
the reason for Audi to go NA I dont know, but I choose to say its just to prove its no big deal making a 100hp/l engine.....
@blah: LOL what do you mean, Audi makes turbo engines wich last longer than the M3 engines that are changed before the owner have used his first set of tires.....the engine change intervals are more often than the oil changes on them.....maybe thats a comerical trick...
"now you dont need to change your engine oil ever again, the engine will not last long enough for it to be a point in changing it...Buy a new BMW today and get rid of the hassle of oil changes"
|
I dont know bout AUDI, but BMW and merc dont let you change your oil. They dont sell their Oil in the shops. More change for them though.

I'm sure these pictures come from an Audi RS4 official Press Kit. Unfortunately, I have only those coming from Audi North America. You Komotar you are a journalist in Europe, so I'm sure that you will be able to get them. I hope so !
Thank you in advance.
