Default Chrome Mercedes R230 SL!!

I love the new SL but this chrome SL is awful !

It's just a show thing ... I still want to know where to get this kind of paint though..

i think they actually dipped the panels in chrome, it's not paint. I went to a bike show last year where they had a fully chrome hayabusa and they dipped all the panels in chrome which added an extra 200lbs. It was cool, but i assume the ride is extremely hot.

gobs3z, I forgot the name of the company but it got a special paint and a speacial way for you to spray paint the car in chrome.. you get the same effect. it also conducts electricity.. I will try to find out what's the company name and post it here...


dani_d_mas, yeah I remember the Mercs chrome pix.. and I don't think it was a calendar.. Just some pix..

Ok... I though it was a calendar. Sometimes, this kind of official pics are done for calendars...

I'm pretty sure the merc pics actually were from a calendar. I'm gonna try and look for it online.

They were featured in Mercedes owners magazine in the UK

Obviously, they could have made it into a calendar, just google it

yeah, sux that you can't drive the car out with that kinda paint legally...it would be sick...almost as kewl as the 'Vanish'/Vanquish...

I heard that jaguar is actually going to make a paint color almost idetical to chrome available from the showroom on some upcoming cars

Even if they made it.. It will still be illegal to use that paint on any car on the public roads.. Have you ever tried looking at a car which got a reflextive tint at mid-day It's not really nice..
