Default Photoshoot ->"Cuban Doll"

I'm still down with the flu so I couldn't get out today either.
I brought this little doll from Cuba. She's about 5 cm. (2 in.) tall.
The camera was in Aperture Priority mode and the aperture was invariably f 2.8.(of course) It was also mounted on a tripod and a two second time delayer was used to cancel any vibrations from my hand pressing the shutter release. The shutter speeds ranged from 1/16 to 1.60 s.

I hope you enjoy them and don't laugh too hard.

Great quality!

Why aperture at "F2.8 (of course)"?

Why aperture at "F2.8
The aperture was at 2.8 because it is the largest aperture my camera provides (the lower the f number the bigger the aperture) and it gives a shallow depth of field (blurred background). It also means the lens was in its widest angle which means I could get closer to the subject without distorsion.

The "(of course)" was for me using a tripod...because of the slow shutter speeds.

Thanks! 8)

Yes I know what aperture does sorry the misunderstanding for that "of course"

Of course. It also has fully automatic (point-and-shoot) modes. There's a mode called "Auto" that just selects the proper aperture/shutter speeds/film speed/white balance/focus for any coditions; Portrait mode: for close-ups of people; panoramic mode; night mode; sports mode- for action shots (fast shutter speed) such as moving cars; slow aperture mode for night shots; multiple exposure mode for multiple exposures on the same "negative" and a film mode for three minutes of film+audio. It's a pretty damn sweet camera. 8)

Mine was CDN 300 +tax...so about CDN 345, or about U.S. 240. The A80 indeed has roughly the same features as mine..and more. I didn't buy the A80 because it was more expensive and 4 MP exceed my needs. I'm guessing now but you don't seem to have detailed knowledge of photography, so (unless you want to learn) you won't need a digital camera with manual settings. The A 80 is a nice camera, but I'd advise you to take a look at the A60, A70 and A75...unless you really think you need 4 MP.

yes indeed i dont have a great knowledge of photography, but i can learn, i have to get the real deal, cuz my mom wont be buying a camera each time i need more, so i guess i have plenty of time to master the functions of this camera, plus, it also haves a auto mode right?

i have taken pictures with a 2.0 MP camera, didnt liked the quality, im not even a exelent photographer, i rather say fair/good hehe, then i tested a friends 4.0 cybershot sony, with i kinda liked the quality, but no physical zoom and reallly not a good camera at all. i'll show my pictures later...

edit: i forgot to say that photography is one of my greates passions, but never got the spirit to start until now.
