New Mercedes Web Movie "The Porter"
Hopefully this isn't a repost..
Stuttgart, Germany - Beginning October 18, Mercedes-Benz will sponsor a 13 minute Web movie 'thriller' called "The Porter" (www.the-porter.com). The movie will feature the new Mercedes-Benz CLS.
"The Porter" tells the story of the porter at a five-star hotel in Budapest who becomes wrapped-up in a diamond smuggling operation. The central roles are played by top names from the film and music industry: the porter is played by the English singer and actor, Max Beesley, ex-Roxy Music-front man Bryan Ferry is the jewel smuggler. The Hungarian top model Annamaria Cseh plays the mysterious beauty and Australian pop diva Dannii Minogue is perfectly at home as the seductive nightclub owner.
"A model as exciting as the CLS demands exceptional marketing concepts", explained Lothar Korn, Global Advertising Manager of Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars Division at DaimlerChrysler AG. Korn. "The Porter expands our integrated campaign for the market launch of the CLS and is closely connected with other Mercedes-Benz marketing activities."
Which also goes for the film's title tune. "Fool for Love", a Bryan Ferry hit that the ex-front man of Roxy Music recently re-recorded exclusively for Mercedes-Benz, will be available as a free download from October 18 at Mixed Tape, the Mercedes-Benz music platform.
At www.mercedes-benz.com/mixedtape music fans will also find the song "The Wave" by the Argentinean performer, Gabriela Anders, who also appears as a supporting actress in "The Porter".

If it's anything like as good as the BMW films it'll be worth watching.

I'm downloading the film right now. 56 MB in all. Let's see if it's as good or better than the BMW films. Oh, BTW which of the BMW films do you like the most and which you don't like the most?

dunno if this is part of the plot or just a good old reminder of Merc quality these days

I just got finished watching it and I LOVED this movie. If you havnt seen it yet, go watch it now, or dont complain cuz Im gunna give away the movie as soon as I finish this sentence.
My favorite part was how he was making it all up in his head, and how at the end you almost felt bad that he had to go back to just standing there. Very good piece of work for how short it was. Totally different feel to it than the BMW movies. Those were more focused on the cars and the action. This had some more substance to it.

Personally, I like the BMW films more. Maybe I'm an action movie kind of guy. And common, you don't have to spoil it for those that haven't watched it yet.
