Not world wide famous, but the one wich is the most competitive is the braziliam Stock Car. In a trouble-free wheather qualify, the laptimes from the pole position to the last placed driver are between just 1.5 seconds...almost always...
just like DTM, the cars are Chevrollet Astra, and also the same V8 engine, 5.0 liter if i remember.
I will post some pictures of them in the Car Gallery session, as i was there to watch a race in Interlagos this sunday. It was very competitive and with some crashes. So you can see the pics there .

I'd have to say that DTM is the best followed closely by the BTCC and the V8 Supercars but I hate Nascars, too many ovals and not enough twisty tracks.

we only get NASCAR here and highlights of DTM. so i prefer DTM. can't comment on BTCC and V8 Supercars as i am not fortunate enough to watch these races.

I'd have to vote for the V8 Supercars since thats what I get to watch the most often and i find it very enjoyable. The racing is very close and the guys don't mind knocking each other off the track to gain position. I see highlights of DTM and that looks great also, so that would be my second favourite. I don't mind NASCAR but it gets a little repetitive and we don't get the BTCC coverage here.
BTW, do the guys in the US/Canada and Europe get coverage of the V8's?

about v8 super cars- the guys don't mind knocking each other off, the rule makers do and that spoils it

^ They are a little harsh at times, but if they let everything go then there would be mayhem on track.
Heres a few pics from the V8 Series:

Either DTM or BTCC are both great. DTM isnt' varied enough tho so i'd have to go for BTCC

Nascar is not a touring car series and i wish people on this site would stop referring to it at all. The best touring car series is Speed World Challenge based in the US. I've seen all of the mentioned series in this poll and none of them compare to SWC.

For me the best championship is which get powerful cars with no electronic aid, brutal reactions of the cars, which means a lot of precission of the driver, rather than technique, the more sophisticated the car, the more technique to get quicker lap times, the less slide of the car, the more boring is a race
And, of course, a race which has lots of overtakes

V8 supercars.
im a pretty big fan of the series, and my favorite driver is "jason bagwana"
NASCARS HHAHAHA what a joke they are - rely rely pathetic.
what about JGTC - i like how they have many different tables for manuafactures ect. and weight peniltys, that encourage close raing.
