Default car for $35000 and under

my friend is looking for a car that is 35000 and under. He wants a car that can handle well in the winter and that will get the chicks. Any suggestions? I was thinking of either an A4 or a 325xi. What do you guys think?

There are some car which could satisfy your requirements, such as the Audi A4, any other car from its group such as the VW passat, the Skoda Octavia, the jag X-Type, the BMW, the Volvo S60, the subaru legacy.....If i had to buy a car from this list, it wouldnt be an easy decision....probably my decision would go for the jag, once its said that its the most agile car in its category, although im quite a big fan of Volvo

Alas the 4motion Passat is not sold in the USA, nor the Octavia. X-Type is a good alternative suggestion, but I'd go for an Evo VIII and spend the remaining $5k on mods if it was me and I had to buy new, otherwise I'd get a used S4 quattro (new shape, V8 ) if the choice is Audi or BMW only.

Not the xi .... that has AWD.

The Audis and BMWs are elegant enough to impress someone. The Evos and STis would be more raucous but less appealing to women... Depends on the women

Or buy a used 99 A8 - make the chicks think he is a rich dude ...

We were quite disappointed with the G35.

Way overpriced and under performing. But different strokes for different folks I guess.

I'd shoot for a very clean bi-turbo S4 if he's okay with a slightly used car. Not necessarily a girl-getter, but it's safe and can be made to kick the snot out of 99% of the stuff on the road.

I take you are living off of a trust fund.

Paying $400 a month for insurance on a single car is such poor prioritization of expenditure it could only be done by the idle rich,...

$400 per month  That's like my loan payment.

Can you co-share the car with your dad/mom or someone else to bring the rates down?
