Default Ferrari 275GTB/4 this morning

Okay its a bit of a cheat as Me and my friend went to pick it up after restoration. But I still saw it! 8)
We were driving back roads - hence the filthy look of the place.
I drove behind in my Porsche 911SC. This 40 year old Ferrari is untouchable. It handles better and accelerates soooooo much faster.
I struggled to keep up. But it was fun trying to!
He said he wasn't actually trying hard either.

More shots here: http://e.co.za/Cars/ferrari275gtb.html

Went for a drive later. Now I wish I took the camera along just to record the sound. Never-ever will a car sound that great.
And sorry for those who like it, but an F355 with a tubi does not even begin to compare to that symphony!

Its like sitting in the middle of the brass section of an orchestra, conducting with your foot.
The range of notes is amazing! And it changes all the time on the slightest input fro your right foot. From 3000 to 4000rpm gives no clue of the symphony from 4000 - 5000! When that little hair-raising vibration starts in your neck and your smile just creeps around your head - motoring bliss! :D

Looking at that picture, I see not much has changed in SA.

That's one of my favourite Ferrari's. Looks great! I was just watching Alan de Cadanet drive one in the Ferrari edition of Victory by Design. What a car.

BADMIHAI -> Nope. S.A. is still very much the same unfortunately.

Zonda11 -> The value depends heavily on the type and condition.
But roughly, in reasonable nick, I think a 275GTB around 200 000 euro($250 000).
A 275GTB/4 around 300 000euro($375 000) and a 275GTB Competizione around 500 000 euro($625 000). And I may be a bit conservative. I think a restored 275GTB/4 can fetch up to 400 000euro ($500 000).

My friend was offered around 350 000euro a while ago and refused it. It would be impossible to replace. And he has owned it since the early 80's. I think he paid about $18000 for it then. 8)

Erez_Avital -> I reduced the pics in size for web purposes. They are 800X600 res. The originals are 1280X960. I will email them on request.

Hey the Ferrari can still give those rice burner's a run for their money, can't they? It'd make my day to see old war horse such as a 275gtb burn off a rice burning civic dude who thinks his all that ...of course, it's not helping the environment one bit...but why walk when you can drive?

I have to apologise profusely! Seems I made a mistake with the html and some images did not display.
Fixed now and added some more pics to the site.

Wow!! You lucky man...

It's a beautiful car and silver suits it very nicely. I hope I ever get to drive one too. The engine is supposed to be brilliant. How were the brakes, by the way? Some 275s seem to lack a good deal in that department.

Your friend bought it at a very nice price. If only I could go back in time and be like Bardinon, buying those classic (racing) Ferraris at a time when no one was interested in them... *daydreaming commences*

the 275 GTB/4 has to be the single prettiest front engined v12 they've ever made. I believe the tour is giong to be going on soon??

stradale -> The owner says the brakes are fine - except after some hard track driving. The engine is the most amazing thing. It really gives goose-bumps and makes my Porsche sound rather tinny comparitively.

bobafett -> The Ferrari event is from 15-20 June through Italy, of course. I am not in that event myself, but will console myself with roughly 2500km driving through europe and the Alps. I will be in Maranello in the week leading up to the event though. Can't wait for the first Alps tunnel! Wish I had better sound equipment.
