a Slolam is a good test of handling balance... keep in mind the Enzo ran the same slolam @ a remarkable 73 mph vs the Veyron's 68 mph

does every car that slolam @ 68 mph = an impressive slolam speed? I'm not trying to say that it isn't impressive... but making a point for future reference.

How come no-one has angry rhetoric for the fact the Veyron needs a n 8litre 16 cylinder quad turbo monster engine to make it's 1001bhp?
I mean at 488ci its about the size of a Viper and still needs 4 turbos.

For a car of this price and caliber, that slalom speed should be higher.
Christ, the new BMW 335i does it at 68.4 mph. (edmunds.com)
Seeing as how the Bugatti costa over 20x as much as the BMW, I'd say that it's handling is quite poor for what you're paying for.
Performance wise, This car is just like a suped up mustang. Good for straight line blasts, but any Porsche or M3 will beat it around a twisty track.

4 turbos to make it twice as powerful as a viper ... doesnt sound bad for me

Thank you for the datas mate, I would have hope a sub-10 for the 1/4 mile but ... Bugatti's claims were higher ( 2.3 for the 0-60 mph) but it seems every magazine that had the opportunity to test it clocked a 2.6, as for the 0-100 mph in 5.5 s. At least it's very constant and show it can be reproduce without drama
