It's a very sad news. I was sure the new Focus RS was ready for the pre-production.

What a shame...

And to think we'll get a SAV (whatever that is) and a new Ka instead of it...

No official word yet, so I'm still hoping.

This is really bad news! I was expecting the new RS to be quite amazing, pretty sad.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear Ford say this to improve the sales of the ST before finally replacing that with the more powerful RS 8)

It's a shame this car is cancelled, maybe the RS would be launched in the second part of the Focus' life just like they did with the old RS.

Lets hope you're right

'Tis a shame indeed. Unfortunately, Ford's financial woes are pretty deep and far-reaching at this point. They spun off Hertz earlier this week in a move that is purely designed to get whatever cash they can in as short a time as possible. It's a poor long-term decision though, as Hertz is a money-maker and has always been in the black even when Ford has been in the red.

That really is a disappointment even though i would have never seen or driven the car, but we'll see what they come out with here in a America, i guess another SVT but hopefully with a more potent engine.

Well, we had a chat with a chief PSA Israel engineer 2 days ago about what happened to the hot hatches. Here are his words: "Back in 70s and 80s people were interested in performance and joy of driving, these days they are concerned about safety and manufacturers concerned by emission standards as well"
Explains everything, isn't it?
