Replica 355
Spotted this 355 replica the other day. Not a brilliant pic. To be honest I don't think the car looks that good.
Would this have started life as an MR2?

Actually, I think that very car was featured in EVO #65. It is indeed an MR2.

Indeed. If it's the same featured in evo it's for sure a good replica... always a replica of course

I could not tell that it was a replica if you would not have mentioned it.
Love it,

Have you noticed the colour of the brakes? They seem to have a kind of rust on it...don't you think?

It's just for being stopped a while..
If you stop a car with the brake disks wet.. they get that look in a week or less.
You can see it's obviously a replica...
A Ferrari would never have such SMALL brake disks!!!!
And the front isn't exactely the same, because of the headlights...

Indeed he could have invested in some bigger brake discs...
Anyway, would you do that to your car?
Because, I really can´t understand where´s the pleasure of owning such thing!

Here is a rear view of the same car. Sorry about the quality of the pic. I have rubbed out the number plate as the car was parked outside a neighbour's house. One thing I noticed straight away was the size of the seat head rests compared to the rear windscreen.

Whether or not its perfect is part of the challenge tho isn't it? doing a project like that would be something i would consider undertaking. not just to fake driving a real Ferrari but to see how close i could get it to the real thing. but i would def make changes such as brake discs and seats etc. are there companies that sell conversion kits like this? are there better kits and junky ones??

Good point. Look at the rusty discs too, and how poorly the body panels fit. Besides that, it isn't bad.

I have seen alot better and i've seen alot worse,
but the best replicas only fail in the interior, i dont get it.. they go so far,
put so much into it, yet they cant make a non SHITTY interior... thats weird...
btw- this is not one of the better looking replicas...

I've seen much worse, and you can tell that it's a second gen MR2 if you look at the slope of the roof towards the rear buttresses...the windows are straight off the MR2...the wheels are a little funky...and as for the brakes...if you have steel brake disks (like most mass-production cars) then when you leave them out in the rain or even in a humid atmosphere, they get corroded...doesn't really make a difference though, the first time you use them the rust gets abraded right off.
