Default Someone tried to steal my identity!!

I had a credit history check today, and although it all went through ok, my old address was flagged up. The short story is that the old house was sold to developers and it was vacant for nearly a year. Due to some arguments with the neighbours they put security guards in the house blah blah blah. Anyway, obviously some of my post ended up in their hands and they have been trying to use my name and (old) address as security for cars and other expensive items. Lucklily they failed. The police are now onto it. No real harm done, but it makes you think!

It sucks that you cant trust people anymore. I think more people should get jobs instead of trying to rip people off. I work hard for my money, they should too.

You CAN trust people, there are just few fuckers you have to watch. Sorry to hear that. Kick they butt hard!

Hahaha, yes 'security' guards! Apparently they were not too clever, and have left a nice trail for the police to follow. Should know who they are in a few days

I have an excellent programme on this subject called "hot plastic" shows you all the scams used to steal identitys, forge credit cards, and some interesting CCTV footage of how teams obtain your PIN number with hidden cameras set up on ATM machines etc.

I can upload the show if there is enough interest in it ??

The older cards are quite easy to "clone" it shows you how its done with a laptop...the newer cards have a chip in them and you have to enter your PIN when buying goods...its quite new in the UK (we got our new terminal a few weeks back here) but I think its been around in France for a few years now...I am sure Yann could tell us all about it.

The only video that comes to mind is when Top Gear was comparing old models to new ones...I am sure you would have that one though.
