IMO - I would think Tony Stewart is a better all-around driver. The guy can drive anything and fast too. Jeff Gordon is good too.

All time best US driver - must be Mario Andretti and A. J. Foyt. Many other notable drivers too.

Yeah but he can wreck pretty good too - I remember watching the road course events - he would either win or crash trying to

Of course in NASCAR terms it is not will a driver wreck but how often will he wreck

you do know that Mario Andretti grew up on the dirt tracks, right?

Mario is grrrrrrrreat all around, Robby Gordon, IMHO, and based on race engineers I talk with, is the best Nascar all arounder today by a long shot... and a great personality to boot. (this may be bias, as the race engineers i've spoken with are both Renault, and Roush, and Ferrari Challenge...

I must say though Robby Gordon has been the best road course driver in Nascar by a large margin. Even the specialists like Scott Pruett, Boris Said, Ron Fellows haven't done as well. I wonder if Monty will change that? I will be watching with interest.

Dan Gurney also come to mind. Wins in F1, Nascar, can am, indy car, trans am, and lemans.

Foyt as mentioned above. Midgets, sprints, nascar, lemans, etc.
