pick up RC Car Action, or its nitro brother. lots of informative stuff. in fact, check out their website if you can't find the rag, or are too cheap to buy it. You'll be able to find lots of hop-ups in there also.

I get most of my parts from http://www.towerhobbies.com I haven't a clue if they ship the the UK or not.
They do have a phone number for international calls though.
This place is pretty good for just about anything you could want to know.

Which car did you get?

I don't think it's needed. It wouldn't get used much, these threads only come up once in a while.

hey man, I'm big into nitro and electric r/c (moreso nitro), so if you ever wanna talk or have questions, just IM or email me, and i'd be happy to tell you what i know 8)
Jabba, about having a separate section for R/C talking, I think it's a cool idea, and so long as there are at least a couple others on here who would talk about it, I'd be there quite a bit, cause I've been into this hobby for some 5-5.5 years now, and I'd say I know quite a bit
it's up to you Jabba, if you wanna make the section, then awesome! if not, then i guess i'll live. Oh, and if you do, then I know someone who would join...maybe i'll tell him to join anyways...he's an awesome kid.
Peace
Brian

KaBlookie - Any advice on setting it up and maximizing performance would be good I have completed the dial in stage and its flying at th mo.... also info on what springs to go for etc..
oscargarza88 - Its a GV models one?!! apparently made by Carson and rebranded to GV models.. Its pretty awsome, 55 - 60mph alloy adjustable shocks, Ally Chassis, fully ball raced, sports pipe, 2 speed gear box..
Like i say im just getting back into them now as last one i owned was like 10+ ago so they seemed to have changed ina few areas...
The hard bit is finding somewhere to use it.. Its on road as im not a buggy person.. like normal cars too much.. he he he he..
But Good to know you guys are out there interested as well.. as kinda lonley place when you are starting up a hobby again..

There is a very good place that is virtually deserted on Sundays opposite the JW offices (where the fork lift trucks are) shown in this picture.
Hopefuly one day I maybe able to get something sorted out at the farm as I would love to get some R/C aircraft one day myself.
