The only X5 that qualifies the M badge. BMW M division has gone soft over the years, all the M cars now are just a pure marketing scheme. X5M, X6M??...

I am not against turbo's, but 2ton M cars?? comon BMW!

I agree, just remember that the current M5 weighs 4000 lbs (i.e. 2 tonnes)

Maybe the 1M(M1) will change that a little.

I'm with 5vz-fe on this one. The 1-series M car may well be quick and handle nicely, and it may well be the closest thing to a "real" M-car for a very long time, but it's still too big and heavy to be the sort of classic that the E30 M3 was. If only BMW would take some of Colin Chapman's "less is more" philosophy and put it towards their cars.

^ I agree, but unfortunately this kind of philosophy does not apply to most cars today...the future is heavy, electric and boring. Thats why i celebrate when i see something like the new STi, still deserve its badge.

Then...lets wait and see the new M1.
