Day 3:
The F1 teams won't be testing at Monza today after a massive storm hits the circuit.

Dark clouds and heavy rain were the order of the morning making track conditions too treacherous for the drivers to test safely.

Although some did venture out for installation laps they were soon back in their garages, opting not to risk the chance of a huge accident.

The three-day test will be prolonged by one day with Ferrari, Honda and McLaren having already decided to test on Friday as well.

It is not yet known if any of the other teams will stick around for another day.

Contrary to last week's testing, Ferrari dominated the opening practice session on Friday for the Italian Grand Prix.

In sunny and warm conditions Kimi Raikkonen set the pace clocking a 1:22.446 as Ferrari aim for the victory on Sunday and the chance to close the gap to McLaren in the Championships.

Raikkonen's time was set halfway through the session and he managed to hold onto the P1 slot for the remaining 45 minutes.

Felipe Massa came the closest to dethroning the Finn as he best time, a 1:22.590 was just 0.144s off his team-mate's fastest time.

Lewis Hamilton also wasn't far off the pace, finishing just 0.028s behind Massa, while Fernando Alonso was a further 0.222s back.

Alonso, though, missed much of the session after reporting a misfire on his installation laps. He did, however, manage to complete 12 laps before the checkered flag fell.

Nico Rosberg was the best of the rest as he set the fifth best time for Williams, however, he failed to get within a second of Raikkonen's P1 time.

Jenson Button, who has struggled for pace for much of the season, came home with the sixth best time, finishing ahead of Giancarlo Fisichella and Robert Kubica.

Fernando Alonso was heads-and-shoulders ahead of his rivals in Friday's second practice session for the Italian Grand Prix.

The Spaniard, who missed much of this morning's first practice after reporting an early misfire, came out in the afternoon and showed his determination to win this weekend.

The reigning F1 World Champion put in a blisteringly fast 1:22.386 to beat his team-mate Lewis Hamilton by just over eight tenths of a second.

Giancarlo Fisichella slotted in behind the McLaren duo as he shone in front of his home fans. The Italian, who is seeking a new deal with Renault, needs a strong result here this weekend if he hopes to even be on the list of candidates for next season.

Fourth place went to Robert Kubica, who finished ahead of Nico Rosberg, while Felipe Massa was the quicker of the Ferrari drivers finishing in sixth place.

However, the Brazilian's 1:23.722 was 1.33s off the pace, which will be a bit of a worry for Ferrari overnight even though they were quickest in the day's first practice.

Nick Heidfeld and Kimi Raikkonen, who was fastest in Practice One, completed the top eight.

The only noteable problem of the afternoon befall Super Aguri's Anthony Davidson, who stopped the session for nine minutes when his car broke down on the side of the track. He finished at the bottom of the timesheets.

Hmmmm... I'm eagerly awaiting qualifying. Was the weather much different in the 2nd session? Ferrari was nearly 2 seconds slower!

Hamilton needs new role models

Did you think that Hamilton is better than FA? LMAO. That spoiled child doesn't respect anything. If he doesn't respect his own team how is he going to respect other teams?
