What is your opinion about french cars?
Do you guys have experienced french cars, or maybe never seen one?
I do like the, my 2 favourites Renault 5 and 205gti. One of the first cars I've driven when I was 17.
So, how about you guys, in the US and other countries where french cars aren't sold or driven that much?

Don't really have any french cars in the US, so I have no experience. Which from what I've heard might be a good thing

I can tell you what the employees of Renault think about their cars? 3 employee suicides in 4 months.
Yes, French cars suck sh1t. I'd rather die then buy one.

My dad had a Citroen Xantia 2.2 Automatic for a year.
Very nice car, fast, quiet and very comfortable!!
We did have many problems with it and it wasn't the best car my dad ever drove.
So overall they are comfortable but lack in some fronts..

I used to find Peugeot cars pretty interesting when I lived overseas, but right now I find them too tawdry and gaudy!
As for Renault, I love their Semi-trucks!

Like already pointed out, very poor reliabilty. And not just the small ones, my friends dad had a range topping Peugeot 607. It spent more time being constantly mended than on the road. He eventually got bored and opted for Japanese.
However, they perform very well in NCAP tests, especially Renault.

Quirky and unique, some people like that. I like a few, but I don't think I could ever convince myself to buy one.

For what the sport models are made for,and thats handling, they are very fun.having owned the saxo vtr i can personally say it was dam fun to drive same with the vts.also had the pleasure of going in a renault 5 turbo which for a car of its age handled amazing, although that was helped along with fully adjustable koni suspension, lol i also like the 205 gti's and wouldnt mind owning any of the sport clio range going back as far as the clio williams

Some people get off on burning themselves with hot pokers and getting whipped during sex, that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

I'd like to own a 205 GTI one day, but my past experience is awful. My first car, a Peugeot 106 1.4 was a nightmare, full of problems, same goes with mom's Renault Grand Espace. Never ok.
I will never own a french car again I fear

WOW, so harsh, even the french guy(yg60m)
But yeah, I do wish they would build some of their beautiful concept cars and up the power.
I prefer their little cars, I remember once driving a Renault 19, I swapped with my nephew so he could use my dieseltank to go long distance, first I was sceptic, but when I drove the car, I fell in love ops: It was hard giving the keys back.
