Default Saleen Factory Tour - December 28th 2006...finally

I finally went on the Saleen Factory Tour. Those with good memory will remember me saying that my friend's cousin works at Saleen (I said that years ago). Well, he worked for Radical then came back to Saleen.

So we just went around the entire factory, even in some restricted areas, engine development, etc... And we saw some mules for certain cars, quite hush hush.

Right now, Saleen's mostly busy building the Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustangs. The entire production line is devoted to that, as you will be able to see in the album. They're all orange, total of 501, I think? 500 production cars, one press car, and unknown number of mules.

If you're not familiar with Facebook albums, it's just a normal thumbnail gallery, no popups.

Impressive! At least you saw parts we will be likely never be able to see!

No chance for a testdrive?

How big was it?

The factory's relatively small. It's as big as a regular industrial warehouse. In fact, it's a big warehouse. It has production line in one side and office/labs on the other side.

They had some ex-racing cars, none of them S7R. They did have a customer S7 with a Competition pack. I dunno, they randomly have race chassis lying around somewhere.

Yeah. I couldn't be bothered with uploading high-res pics. Lol. If there's a specific one you need to see big, tell me.

Everybody see this?

The Saleen Policecar "prop" from the upcoming Transformers movie.

I wanted to go there last time I went to Cali but with no luck. Nice pics though, maybe I'll see them in person soon.
