8 milyon dolara mal olacak
GÜNEY Afrikadan ithal edilen akaju, maun, sipo ve brimanya ağaçları kullanılarak yaklaşık 16 ayda tamamlanması beklenen yatta yaklaşık 60 işçinin çalıştığı belirtildi. Yat, 12 ay sonra teslim edilecek. 14 kişi kapasiteli 44 metre uzunluğundaki yatın 8 milyon dolara mal olacağı belirtildi.

Malaysian Prime Minister here to see his boat
Malaysian Prime Minister, Abdullah Ahmed Badawi arrived in Bodrum yesterday to see his boat which he ordered four months ago. Badawi arrived in Bodrum at 1.30 am with a private jet that belongs to Malaysia Airlines.
The head official of Milas, Bahattin Atci, and Malaysian businessman Ananda Krishnan, who is the sixth richest man in Asia, welcomed Badawi. Kamil Sezgun, who is the director of Kobra Yachting and Tourism Ltd Co, was also present.
Badawi and his friend Krishan went to Gokova for fishing with a luxury motor yacht belonging to Kremala Holding, which was brought over here from Malta. The luxury yacht "Obsessions" is 40-meter long, made in the Netherlands and the captain of the yacht is Cavit Kabak. The yacht was anchored in Milta Marina.
Badawi said he loves Bodrum and south Aegean and the Mediterranean so much. It's a great pleasure for him to be here fishing and resting on the line (horizon) that connects blue and green (ocean and land).
The boat will cost 8 million dollars
The boat is made of Akaju, Maun, Sipo and Brimanya's tree which is imported from South Africa. It is expected to be completed in 16 months. Some 60 people are involved in the construction of the boat. The boat will be delivered after 12 months (since he ordered it four months ago). The capacity of the boat is for 14 people and the length is 44 meters. The boat will cost 8 million US dollars.
Is Hurriyet a major newpaper in Turkey? is it a credible paper? This is a hot news that wasn't reported on the local news media, its widely circulated on the net now and we don't like this. The PM earn around USD 8K per month, he's in his 3rd year and he cannot do business as side income.
Pls help, thx!

I don't know, but a boat that only holds 14 people for $8million seems like a total ripoff.

Prosperous yet also part uncivilised 3rd world ghetto? Yep quite intriguing .
Environment - current issues:
air pollution from industrial and vehicular emissions; water pollution from raw sewage; deforestation; smoke/haze from Indonesian forest fires
|
Major infectious diseases:
degree of risk: high
food or waterborne diseases: bacterial diarrhea, hepatitis A, and typhoid fever
vectorborne diseases: dengue fever and malaria are high risks in some locations (2005)
|
GDP - per capita (PPP):
$12,000 (2005 est.)
|
Trafficking in persons:
current situation: Malaysia is a destination and, to a lesser extent, a source and transit country for men and women trafficked for the purposes of sexual exploitation and forced labor; foreign victims, mostly women and girls from China, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam, are trafficked to Malaysia for commercial sexual exploitation; economic migrants from countries in the region who work as domestic servants or laborers in the construction and agricultural sectors face exploitative conditions in Malaysia that meet the definition of involuntary servitude; some Malaysian women, primarily of Chinese ethnicity, are trafficked abroad for sexual exploitation
tier rating: Tier 2 Watch List - Malaysia is placed on Tier 2 Watch List for its failure to provide evidence of increasing efforts to combat trafficking, particularly its failure to provide protection for victims of trafficking

I see you have read the CIA guide quite closely. That thing makes the world seem like such a bad place.
The trafficking is a serious thing, but the other stuff is a bit exaggerated.

My sister spent 5 years teaching english in Taiwan and toured extensively in the region - in her words the entire region is a dichotomous shithole cesspoll of 1st world eletronics and limited wealth and 3rd world poverty and squalor.
Human life is cheaper than a Thailand Manboy Hooker.
She made some cash then got the hell out.

Having been to various parts of Malaysia, from wealthy to not wealthy; from built-up to jungle, I can tell you it's not as bad as you think.
You talk of your sister's travels a lot. She seems to have a low opinion of every country she visits.

Nice try ..
Except when you travel the "country" not the "tours" as she has, she sees the REAL country.
She is not a tourist, but a traveller.
You don't have to dislike a country to point out its a shit hole - all you have to do is use a 1st world country as a home base.
I guess according to your rosy outlook Uganda must be paradise.

The majority of my trips to Malaysia were not to regular tourist destinations. I have generally found Malaysia to be a good place to visit, and the people generally friendly. Oh well, opinions differ.
