Default Picasso's "The Dream" valued @ 139 million, torn !

This is unveliebable !
The owner had sold the painting and while pointing a part of the painting he sliped and accidentaly hit the painting with his elbow tearing the canvas !! Of course the sale wasn't finalized...

Talk about bad luck !

the owner of the painting was steve wynn (vegas casino owner),
i am kinda happy that he did this, he paid $48.4mill for the painting 10 years ago, and is selling it for almost a 100mill profit. teaches your a leason... don't get to greedy.

How is he being greedy? People will pay what they think it's worth and if it's a hell of a lot more than he paid for it, why shouldn't he make some money on it. Damn near every piece of valuable art is bought and sold at a profit. People don't buy these things because they are pretty, they are investments.

LMAO good one!

In all seriousness, he bought it and he can sell it for as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Wynn didnt get to where he is by not being a smart business man.

Ive been an "artist" for sometime now and it amazes me what sells and what doesnt. Like 666 said, more often that not, its just an investment or a way to one up your rich friends.

Yeah... as much as I like some art, I find that occasionally you have paintings worth 10-100million, and they don't look good at all...

btw: what's the silver car in your sig?
