So, my back is screwed up
I've been having back pains for about two weeks now and today I finally said enough and went to the doctor.
Turns out, I've pulled a few muscles in my back and they are all swollen. I can barely walk and it sucks. Sleeping isn't very fun either.
Cool part, I get a few days off of work.
Not Cool part, I have to take a few days off of work. Losing hours sucks.
The Doc said I probably did it at work, since I have to carry so much weight around. 4000lbs worth of rotors doesn't seem bad, untill you have to put them away. Many on a shelf well over my head.
I'll probably have to switch positions, go back to being a delivery boy I guess. If my boss tries to cut my pay, he'll get a flying dropkick of death into his throat along with a two weeks notice.
So in a nutshell, my day went from miserable to absolute hell. And I get to spend the next two days doing nothing while popping ibuprofen (sp?) like an addict. yay

well, if you can get your doc to cut you a note saying he believes it's work related, you should be able to get workman's comp, shouldn't you?

Son of a whore. Back problems are the worst. I've fucked up my lower back from driving so much this summer and now I'm in constant pain. What the fuck should I do? It takes 4 fucking months to see a specialist in this fucked up province. Fuck free healthcare! :fist: God damn communists...

Yea, I've got the forms for my boss to fill out so I can collect workmans comp. I still don't want to miss work though. I'd rather get a full days pay.
I just climbed out of the hot tub and I'm feeling alright. I'm sure the pain will be back soon though. I've totally gotta find a way to watch TV while in the hot tub. Cause it gets pretty freakin boring just sitting there.
Back pain is teh suck.
Bad, that sucks! If I had to wait 4 months to have my back checked out, I'm pretty sure I'd go mental. Still, it can't be bas bad as having nasty ass man boobs like your avatar. barf

That sucks. Abdominal workouts help prevent back injury, so I've heard/read.
Come to think of it, my right knee hurts if I keep my right leg bent for too long, or if I turn on it too much whilst playing/refereeing/otherwise running. Don't think it's all that serious though...

Remember to pull with your legs when you lift something up, not your back!
I used to work in a warehouse were I was the boy to get stuff for all the customers and this was constructin things so I carred around 25kg or bags with concrete and stuff. And that's were I remembered, use your legs!
I'm planning to study Naprapathy, so I you can hold on for another 4-5 years, I'll come over and straighten that out for you
Bath is good because they soften the muscles up abit, don't sit still for too long because that will make them stiff.

Sucks as hell mate! I always use tiger balsam whenever the muscles in my back or neck are swollen!
BTW if they didn't explain how to do your job properly, like rules and ways to do it and avoid injuries maybe you could sue them?

But if you are hurt in your back why dont you get payed if the doc says you aint fit for working, here you get full pay for things like this??

Maybe he works part-time where there is no official sick leave.

Yeah, you live in America - plaintiff's heaven. Sue the bugger! But it's not really a smart option because of cost issues and the certainty that he will not be returning if he does sue.

I do get paid. It's called workmans compensation. It doesn't pay exactly what you make though, it pays 2/3 of what you make. Looks like I'll have to collect it though, my back hurts more today than it did yesterday and I don't think it'll be fine by tomorrow.

Did the doctor give you some muscle relaxers? That should do the trick but it takes time.
Don't worry about losing pay if you have to go to a lesser position, that is against the law in the US. Unless you agree to it, but don't. If it was really that bad, your boss would make your life miserable and try to make you quit. Comforting, eh?
