Doesn't even look like it's using street tires. (I maybe wrong, but the cornering speed seems very very high)

550 hp, on street tires...
its just A LOT lighter then a 996 GT2 normally is... i think 25 kg were saved on each door alone
fully ajustable suspension; you would be able tor un it on the street comfortably... although, im sure it would be rather loud... but the engine is def. not very much more high strung then standard...

well, with all the GT1 (and thus, 959 based) components in the car, and sound deadening removed...
BTW, i think its tires were Perelli Corsa Rosas (or whatever thier streetable slick comparable to Michilin Pilot Cup tires)..

I suspect it is road legal, but only in the UK.
Same as this vid. Fastest lap on the nordschleife with a road legal car (6:55 min), but the car is only legal in the UK. They just drive everything in the UK haha, as long as it has got tires and a steering wheel...

I recall seeing a pair of those Edo GT2s on the Nurb webcam, always was curious as to how fast they would run. Great vid, thanks.

Hey, just the fact that you COULD drive it on everyday roads is enough.. I know driving a race car on the street is something I always think about
This guy is amazing.. must be incredible to do a perfect lap around the Nurburgring..

Haha, exactly. I have seen the Edo cars at many venues here in Germany and never have I seen them driven to the track. They always are brought in their decked out Edo Comp semi truck. As for the test not so sure it did it with street tires or not still looking for an article about this "fastest lap". If Edo can make such a car, pretty much a race car with blinkers, why don't they race in the 24 hrs of the 'Ring? A fast one lap is one thing but a reliable car doing fast laps over 24 hrs is another.

components from the GT1 = reliable, "only" an extra 50 hp = reliable.... of course, you never know what will happen in a race.

True a race isn't the best of tests but Edo sure seems like a race team just without the team and cars. As the car in the vid is more race than street meaning stripped out, cage, race seat and all that other stuff.
As for the extra 50 hp you mean more like 140 hp from a standard GT2 spec M64 engine or do you mean 50 more than the GT1 spec engine? I think i missed where the power figures were in the thread

Racecars aren't usually faster because of more power than road cars, but because of downforce, suspension and tires, so an additional 50BHP over the standard car is entirely believable.
