Hungarian Grand Prix stewards have penalised world champion Fernando Alonso for an incident involving Red Bull’s Robert Doornbos during Friday practice at the Hungaroring. Alonso gesticulated at Doornbos, whom he felt had held him up, and then appeared to deliberately weave and slow his Renault in front of the Dutchman’s car during the afternoon’s session. Stewards Tony Scott Andrews, Antonio Vasconcelos Tavares and Lajos Herczeg decided that Alonso’s actions were “unnecessary, unacceptable and dangerous”, and awarded him a one second time penalty to be applied to his fastest lap time in each of the qualifying sessions, Q1, Q2 and Q3. Additionally, Alonso received a similar penalty for overtaking another car after the session had finished, under waved yellow flags. He will thus get an aggregated cumulative penalty of two seconds in Q1, Q2 and Q3, effectively damning his chances on a circuit on which overtaking is virtually impossible.

Dedicated for what? Schumacher wasn't penalized for flipping out on a Friday test driver.

I don't really get why Schumacher got a 2 second penalty since Alonso only got a 1 second penalty for passing... Possibly because it was a red flag I suppose, or maybe the FIA is favouring Renault! OmGConzpiraseez!

Nearly running Doornbos off the road, then brake checking him, should've been worth more than 1 second. Either way, Schumacher was only 2 tenths shy of progressing to session 3 even with the 2 second penalty haha.

He was at least 4 car widths away from the racing line, which he dove back to after pushing up along side Doornbos. Didn't even try... You have to try pretty hard to get over that far, and get that close to another car without hitting them, then diving back to the racing line and blatantly brake checking him in the corner.

Give it up, Renault already have.

I meant that Alonso hardly tried to get to the third tier. He was in the pits very soon.
