I don't think it's anything that special....

I can almost imagine a Bugatti Veyron next to him... and don't needing a parashute to brake, and weighting 2 tons..

Nice, I always wondered how fast they would go.

Just a small historical background to put in prospect.

The Auto Union Typ C Stromlinie did in 1937 the world top speed record with 406 km/h

Pretty incredible when you think the car was designed with a completely different purpose in mind, and despte that ultimate specialization cans till do 400 km/h. Keep in mind it is a 2.4 litre engine NA engine, not a V-16 quad turbo 8 litre monster.

A parachute is obligatory for such attempts and I fear a Veyron won't hit 400 within the same distance.

Nor will it stop as quickly.

Saw a news article about this thing some time ago. Nice work from the BAR team, even though it did smack of a publicity stunt.

It is indeed the V10.

If I had things my way, Formula 1 cars would run with no wing just like that one haha. Now that would make things interesting

Very cool...take that unsaid VW car with 1001hp!

Pretty impressive for a car with open wheels, and even without wings, a shit ton of drag. I bet that must have been 'interesting' to drive at 250+mph! I agree with nick, this is how they should make all the F1 cars drive, back to 1967! 8)

Almost forgot, thanks for the vid dude!

And, they made that record driving on the autobahn , if I'm not mistaken.
