McLaren SLR brake failure
The guys from Team 52 (black SLR, orange flames) where pushing the SLR to the limit. When the car arrives at Rome, they got a problem with the front ceramic brake.
That noise in the beginning explains everything...
McLaren SLR brake failure

yeah, looked like the pads were worn, and the metal backing was digging into the rotor making that screetching noise. I dont see how they would've failed like taht... seems more like a wear issue than a failure.

That was not a pretty sound I wonder whether the worn pads caused any damage to the brake rotors. If they did, I feel sorry for the owner, cause a replacement is something like €5000, but don't quote me on that...

By the sounds of what they are saying at the end of the video he'd just been absolutely hammereing the brakes all the way, as he said the pads were new before they set off.
It says he was lapping quickly at a race circuit though, so its no wonder the pads wore down so quick, its a fucking quick, pretty heavy car that SLR.
If he wasnt silly as soon as he heard the problem then im pretty sure he'd get away with just a pad change. Difficult driving an auto off the brakes though
Not a brake faliure by any means, simply not maintaining the braking system...

Ceramic brakes aren't holy, there have been quite some Porsche 911 owners that wore them down in 1 trackevent.

Those drivers were using the PCCB 1.0 in effect and werent using the racing brake pads - instructed for track use by Porsche
