Default Pls. Help Speed TV driver of the year awards.

http://www.speedtv.com/features/731/

there are some serious contenders missing... like Loeb in particular...
anyway... with JW's help... mabey we can dent an impression away from Nascar TV... whoops, i mean Speed TV

the options are
Tony Stewart (NASCAR)
Dan Wheldon (IRL)
Sebastien Bourdais (Champ Car)<---- (my vote)
Steve Kinser (World of Outlaws)
Tony Schumacher (NHRA)
Greg Anderson (NHRA)

currently its 66% tony stewart

i wonder how much a dent we can make?

Why would Formula 1 feature here? It may be seen by 3 billion people like you and me but it ain't American.

Besides Bubba cant understand the technology of those dang furriners. He just wants Budweiser and Nascar and 150 meaningless passes and three wrecks per race weekend.

^^^ that said,
speed does show F1 races, not just that they have their own commentators, and f1 decade, and 2 other shows...

they could of put atleast 1 F1 driver on the list

I did my part. It would be quite the coup if a champ car (read: a real racecar) driver won on nascar tv

god I hate nascar

BTW, just checked, and its 67% Tony Stewart now

The fact is that their bread and butter is in Nascar plain and simple. That's why there is so much emphasis on it.

All said and done it is still a decent channel - thanks to programs like f1, F1 Decade,Victory by Design, Goodwood and the other programs mentioned by nth and Mr. T.

The awards are scoped out to be race events that are primarily run out of US. It is an American award and not an International award. Treat it as such.

thankfully we have thenumber1

well... i heard they had poor ratings during the WRC coverage... at first they were playing it something like 10 times/week... then a few months later they cut it down... last year it was something like once per week... and advertised quite poorly as to what time it was on. no wonder
I've resisted posting, as SPEED does not discuss ongoing negotiations with anyone -- certainly not posting "updates" on the messageboard ... to put this topic to rest for now, there is no deal with WRC for 2006 to date ... talks are ongoing ...
well, since talks are on-going...theres hopes that by the next rally, it will be covered...

they would always show WRC at the most random times, at like 3 or 4am EST.. of course I would always catch it coming home late at night all staggered and half asleep..

Speed with out WRC... hmm.. that was 75% of the reason why I liked that channel so much..

And that poll is definitely pointed towards Speed's main audience.. oh well

I figured as much due to the times they would air it and how infrequently it was on even when I knew there was a race.

They used to have pretty good coverage a couple of years ago and it just got crappier and crappier. I didnt mind so much when they were playin it at 3-4 am cause Tivo had my back. I just cant believe they really dropped it altogether.

After the enormously long barrage of swearing I am about to do, I will be quietly crying myself to sleep...
