Bugatti vid of launch...and...0-210khm! Christ!
I hope this is not a repost! ops: This vid is better than the Top Gear one, in terms of seeing the car in action IMO. Not quite full on track actin at the end, but my god it is fast!

I already got it, but you can really see how fast the best car ever created by mankind ( ) really is. Unbelievable how fast the guy sais "60, 100, 120" and so on. Now i really believe the 2.5 sec to 60mph.

I believe its fast as hell, but 2.5 secs seems really optimistic for a heavy car wich uses turbos (lag).
I mean, why didnt Skylines with 1000 hp deliver that acceleration if they too were 4x4 and lighter?

Uhm, actually the Veyrong has some serious lag as far as I read so far. I guess it's pretty easy to keep it in the boiling zone, but apparently overtake a car in the real world isn't as relaxed as in an F1, but well, it was Gordon Murray who said that

Gordon Murray doesnt understand how the Veyron works - thats why. The Power Gauge as we all know shows the power which the car is using. Flattening the accelerator doesnt push it to 1000bhp instantly - it rises quickly. People say its turbo lag, Bugatti made it so the car was drivable and didnt kill people with 1000bhp on tap constantly. Also for the Skyline's not being able to do 2.5 to 100kph, I dont know whether skylines havent done that. The Veyron was developed over a shitload of time for a reason - the same reason people claim it handles like an Elise even after 1900+kg to deal with.

ronin, the quad turbo setup in the veyron isnt anything like the 959's sequential turbo system... and nothing like the 997 turbo's variable impeller gemoetry design to broaden the torque curve while silmotaniously increasing top end efficiancy.
there is inherent lag, but when dealing with nearly 8 liters of displacement... that alone is enough to keep a fairly massive torque flow going to the ground... sure, it has lag (again, dealing with the displacement alone... it would feel slower then once the turbos have spooled up)
also, im sure skylines with 1000 bhp can do 0-60 times similar to that... a lot of time, however, is wasted on shifting... and im sure the Veyron hits 60 in first gear... and its gearbox is the amazing DSG 7 speed too. also, keep in mind how wide the contact patch is another thing... ive seen videos of WRX STi's doing 60 in under 3 seconds with less then 600 hp...
