Default Check these bad boys out!

New speakers and amp, boy do they sound good!

B&W 602.5 S3 - http://www.bwspeakers.com/
Rotel RA-01 Amp - http://www.rotel.com/
Only running off a PS2 cd player and they still sound gorgeous, hopefully be able to afford a proper dvd/cd player soon.

Audiophile heaven

We have discussed audio at length here on jabbasworld several occasions. A friend just got a new audio system, he said that the optical cables make all the difference in the world is that true??

Anyhow congrats on the system!!

If you want the best possible audio quality - optical cables are not the way to go.

Good quality "regular" wire is what you want. I've got some of this, which is high quality stuff (about £10 per metre, but it was thrown in free with my speakers). QED are renowned for thier speaker cable & interconnects. There's other stuff about, but I honestly would never go optical unless I had too, eg. with the apple airtunes thing.

Nice set up... looked into the B&Ws after seeing good things about them in STUFF mag.

Didn't buy them, as they are far to expensive for my pockets. How much as the total cost? if you don't mind me asking

I got a bit knocked off them but their RRP's are £400 for the speakers, £250 for the amp
