Sadly no more pics Sameer may have some.. and the video system was malfunctioning.
But overall a great time - 130 miles round trip - 60 mph avg speed (including 20 miles there in traffic and 20 miles back in traffic... ) - 2 hours 10 minutes drive time - 13mpg.
My little co-pilot kept looking back and asking "What happened to the blue car?"
Radar did alert us to 2 cops... one in a little speedtrap and another over the hill so we slowed to 55...
Ran 266 oil temp for a while... water at 198, but that seems acceptable.

Yep that reminds me, I need to fix my radar into the S
<TA nips down to the garage and does it before he forgets>
I nearly got caught today but some kind chap in a Civic coupe was kindly flashing the hell out of his hi-beams coming the other way :good:

Well - we did slow up every now and again.
There is nothing quite like entering a 120mph sweeper with a gentle tap on the shoulder offering you a yellow Skittle's candy...
The great thing is the Nurburgring-tuned Sachs shocks have settled the car down nicely, so you can one-hand the bend and take your candy like a man....

It was a great day for driving and a much needed one at that ... My routine for the last 10 months has been to drive a crappy rental car 5 days a week and barely put 50-60 miles on my S in a week.
A good hard drive was really called for and thanks to RC and his encyclopediac knowledge of the little known back roads of Tejas, we got ourselves a good thrash in less crowded roads.
The shark (due apologies to the 550M) from the side ..

But this is the view I saw pretty much all day

But I got the pound seat as I was treated to an amazing soundtrack from the Z06 - you get goose pimples as the revs rise and when the car slows down there is a cool wastegate releasing like noise - sounds like two 12 gauge shot gun blasts. Overall it was Basso profundo experience 8) - needless to say I barely to got hear the sound of my humble motor
The rally navigator and chief nutritionist (made sure the great man's energy was kept at optimum levels with frequent candy boosts) ...
I did record 125 - I was concentrating on my slow acting camera and didnt realise I hit the red limiter in 5th duh ops: ... I dont think I went much faster today maybe 130 or so max.

I would have needed a lot more than that unless of course you are refering to GT3-RS!
The Z06 is an awesome machine - I would have need something with a lot more hp and lighter than my lil piggie to keep up.
I wasnt too bothered about the speed differential between the two cars as I certainly expected the Z to be miles ahead. Nor was the braking performance as my car was about 600 lbs heavier.
But I was disappointed to see how my car was jumping up and down on the bumps and was tramlining a lot while braking on rough roads. Particularly since the Z car was taking it really well - the N-ring shocks are really awesome 8)
On smooth roads the car is fine - understeer is there but everything is very predictable and safe. But throw in rough surfaces and try taking corners at speeds of 80-100mph the car was a big handful porpoising at several spots. I think the stock suspension in the US car sucks - it needs better dampening and shock valving. STASIS has the solution I believe ...

Nice! I am sure it was fun! And indeed, alpine twisty roads are not the only place where you can trash your car

Hey Sameer, I think I would need to don my leathers and bring the Kawasaki to have any chance of keeping up with the Z06
Well I suggested your idea to my stock S2000, and she groaned and turned 2 shades of blue paler at the prospect of a tete-a-tete with the Z06 lol. Even with a supercharger my H wouldn't stand a chance, but I'd get a better suntan than either of you fixed-roof boys
