Default SPYWARE - Messenger Service Pop ups

I dont know if this is a hole in my fire wall or what but I have adaware SE Plus and Norton Internet Security..and the messenger popups are still coming. I was so frustrated that I wiped off my hard drive and re-installed windows to start from scratch but 5 mins after the install more messenger service icons appeared. If anyone has any idea or suggestion how to make this damn thing stop please help me out.

Thanks

I think what you need to do is go into the registry and look for regscan.exe or something similar. chances are it's somewhere in the system32 folder (just a guess)

you should've have reinstalled windows lol
anyways try this ...
open the Run box .. and enter "services.msc"
in the list ... find ""messenger"" service
open its properties and select startup type " disabled " and stop the service .... then restart your computer (just to be sure) ....
then telme what happens ...

^^that should work. But you don't have to restart. Just stop the service, then change it's startup property to disabled

shutdown the service and set your firewall not to allow messages from certain programs.
