Default Ford Iosis Concept

http://www.autocar.co.uk/news_article.asp?na_id=216907
this is the concept for a ford 4door coupe to rival the CLS...it looks pretty good IMO(ofcourse there's the usual concept over-designing), just 2 things, the rear lights remind me of Mazda or some other jap car, and the rear quarter viewed from the side reminds me of Aston Martins...judge for yourself:

No, it's not the new Mondeo, this is Ford's iosis concept car, which makes its public debut at next month's Frankfurt motor show. Like the Mercedes-Benz CLS, iosis is a four-door, four-seater coupé penned as a preview for Ford of Europe design boss Martin Smith's ideas for the future styling direction of European Fords.

Called 'kinetic', the new design language is an attempt to make blue oval offerings more 'dynamic and exciting', but the bluff nose of the iosis also offers a glimpse of how Ford is dealing with the problem of pedestrian impact regulations.

Behind carbon-fibre doors that pivot away from the body for easier entry, the cabin features a combination of classic leather and aluminium with more modern rubber compounds and neoprene. the skeletal driver's seat is fronted by a steering wheel machined from a billet of aluminium with the rally-style sequential gearshifter a handspan away.

Clever details include an LCD screen between the main instruments that doubles as a sat-nav display and a television output for the trio of rear-facing cameras that replace conventional mirrors. Instead of a traditional key, there is a push-button starter with docking ports in the centre console for memory sticks containing individual drivers' preferences.

i agree gucom. there's some jap-euro-70's muscle car elements in this car.

but it does look good and blends everything well. seems ergonomically viable also.

fro the three quarter rear view, it looks like the new jag xk. the vents behind the front wheels are from an rx8, as are the doors. the wheels are from the focus st. its a mish mash of ford products, but it looks veeeery handsom, especialyl from the front. best lookin ford in years, IMO. i hope it sees production, at least as the mondeo replacement.

Yeah it is a Ford RX-8 now if you take that and drop in a Cammer I would be VERY interested

And I have to disagree Everso Ford is one of the most active in recent years when it comes to concept vehicles I would think Audi is pretty low on the Concept and overall redesign charts along with Chevy who had the same damn truck for 20+ years.

I think it looks great. It'll also be great if all the Aston Martin/Jaguar design trickles down to Fords.

Even if that's just an RX-8, i'll take it if it looks like that.

well on a production level obviously the doors would be gone along with all the LED lights and that sweet ass dome light and funky steering wheel.

good luck trying to take sales from the merc CLS for starters it looks bloody good and goes like hot snot mmm AMG SUper charged V8...
the front looks a bit messy, few too many ideas, but acceptable
the side is quite shapeless when you compare it to the Continental GT (or most new coupes)
the side grill would look a bit better if it were bolder (too slim perhaps..)
matching the front intakes and exhausts with chrome trimming looks rather disturbing
the interior looks shocking in that fusion copper orange, luckily it'll come in other colours, though im not a fan of the two-tone idea
And as for the realtion to astons and jags.. its a coupe thats where the similarity ends
