Default GTR demo released

This demo was ment to be a press demo, but since it leaked out, SimBin decided to release it publicly. There is only one track (Spa) and you can choose between two cars (Lister and Morgan). File password is "GTR_Press_Demo".

Have already tried the press demo, I think it is great; handling, sound and graphics, although its an early demo. At least its a must-try if you like realistic racing games. Runs great on my computer, which isn't of the fastest; 2 ghz amd w 512 mb ram and 9800pro. Remains to see how it will handle a full field of cars.

Just played it. Its an amazing game. Is it based on the F1 Championship 99-02 engine from EA? It really looks and feels that way. The graphics look great, the physics are extremely realistic and the sound is also great. Do not try to play this game without a racing wheel because it is almost unplayable. You really need all analogue control to get the most out of this game.

Yes it is, didn't mean to complain on my setup, but meant that GTR demo seems to run great without having to have a "top of the line" pc. Wonder if it will be smooth with 56 in the field.

(would not mind an upgrade from my current xp2400+ w 512 mb PC2100 ram though)

Well - I tried it out - awesome - except there is this 78km/h speed limit imposed everywhere.. what option to select to remove this speed governor?

Unless it is just an indication of their poor controller support..

BTW, I have the game setup to play on the TV out, which is a big screen TV across the room - so I am squinting over at the Game Menus... perhaps I am missing some "novice disable" option to get rid of the 78km/h speed limit (almost like the whole game is treated like the pit lane)

RC45; its the Pit Speed Limiter, I think its "L" by default. If not check in the controller setup screen.

That was the ticket - played pretty well on a 1.6ghz, 1mb cache with 1gb RAM and a Geforce FX5600 256mb video adapter... makes you wonder how they make do with such "low end" hardware on the PS2 and XBox...

Me thinks the PC developers have a long way to go to learn to get optimal use of the hardware they have on hand... :0

Still a very nice and emersive game.

With a bunch of street and GT cars and the Nurburgring - this game would could keep me busy for a while... (not really into the whole "World Series" multi-circuit racing thing...)

I just played it and it played decently. Uhm the one thing I think is odd is the steering is SO sensitive! even at 0% sensitivity. Shame there is no other cars on the road cuz the 1.2ghz i have runs fine with ONE car...now to see if it will run with more than one...lol

Using the Momo Forcefeed back wheel, set to 100% in-game force and 150% windows driver force it feels really good.
