How many miles on your NEW CAR?
I was just wondering, for al those who bought a car new, what was the mileage on the car? I went and saw the car thats gonna be mine, and it read 46 miles. What were those 46 miles used on? Whats the standard NEW car mileage?

I thought that dealers had special cars that were used for test drives. I wouldt want someone testdriving my car... I test drove a white G35 in this dealer and it was new, but they let me drive it cuz they had no test drive manual car... the guy did not go with me because his hand was broken or something so he let my roomate and me leave with the car. We drove the shit out of it and we had to park for a while for the tires to stop smelling. After all this I go and see my car has 46 miles on it and now I'm paranoid.

It depends on the situation....for example here in the basque country, the cars are delivered on a truck to the main brand dealer of each county with 0 kilometers, then the car is transported by a main dealer employee himself to the smaller car dealer nearby where the car was ordered, the car in question can have more kilometers than the distance itself from one dealer to another, in the car has been driven by accident by an ordinary person who is interested in purchasing the same model, and the person wants to drive it before taking the definitive decision of purchasing that model

Never owned a new car, I couldn't live with the depreciation
Most of it's down to moving cars out of the factory, onto a transporter, around car lots. I'd be suspicious of more than say 15 miles or 20km on the odometer but if it bothers you why not arrange to pick your car up from the factory where it was built? you might even negotiate your destination charge out of the price!

Its good to get it from the factory you won't have any damn dealership advertisemnet on your car I hate those things unless they look kewl. My brothers has a Freedom Ford Oval on it. I'll see if I can find a pic of it.

46 miles is a lot! I mean a lot! for a supposed 'new' car. There is an x-demonstrator going in our local garage, and that only has 37 miles on it. Make sure it has not been pre-registered making you the 2nd owner, and if it has, get some money back.

When I went to pick the TA up from Park Place they'd put 'advertising' on the rear of the car, a little plastic chrome logo. As I had not put a deposit down I called their bluff by suggesting I'd only accept the car if they'd drop the price $500 in order to pay me for their advertising, and their response was to remove the logo (which is what I wanted!)
