Top Gear US Cable Requests
I'm trying to get people in the U.S. to submit a request for the show to their cable provider. I'm telling all my friends, in a non-obsessive way, to ask for the BBC program, Top Gear. Mention that it's from BBC 2 at 8pm on sundays (in England).
Usually your local cable provider has request forms on their website, at least if it's Time Warner.
Don't know if it's been done before, but it seemed like a good idea. Also, I don't know how cable companies work with the legal stuff pertaining to this sort of thing. If anyone has a reason why this wouldn't work, please post.

Also, my harddrive broke over spring break... I just wanted people to know because i didn't want to fall into the category of someone who joined and visited once a month.

LOL!
As much as I woud love to be able to watch Top gear here, there just isn't much point. In order for the show to survive and become a success, it'll need a large fanbase. Other than car enthusiasts, most people aren't gonna care to watch a show about cars that will never be sold here. I know a lot of people who would like to watch it, but I know twice as many who wouldn't care.
So, even if it was aired here, I'm sure we'd end up with a super condensed version. The way I look at it, give us the whole show or nothing at all.
Of course none of this matters, I've got an excellent source for Top gear videos!

With all the stuff they show on Spike TV I think Top Gear would be an ideal fit. I mean Riding with Funkmaster Flex is okay, but it doesn't compare! Try to petition Spike TV because they are the ones who would be interested in bringing it here.

is there a DVD out of any of the season? i'd like to watch them on a real TV rather than this 15" monitor in crappy quality.

I don't know about you, but everyone likes redonculously fast cars, whether they know a lot about them or not. That's a great eye catcher for viewers. And Jeremy Clarkson is hilarious.... perfect setup for a cult following which it already has a little.
