Default Slalom sprint Bière 2004, amateurs day, 100+ pics (5 vids)

As for a start, a nice Mondial from my window, yesterdy

About slalom sprints.. I think you could refer to them as AutoX someway, but in Switzerland there is a national slalom sprint championship too.. sort of scaled down rallies so it's not just for fun no big prizes obvously though
Anyway, today was the "amateur" day and I couldn't even stay to much, the real pro will be tomorrow with lot of race cars too as far as I heard

It was the first time I went to this slalom sprint, but not to hard to find your way when on the road you can follow this

And now, the cars I saw in the parking lot while searching for a slot for mine

And now for the cars waiting to be raced:

ALL THE PICS ARE CLICKABLE AND LEAD TO 1600X1200 RES

I think it's worth to begin with the "best" one the only Ferrari a superb 355 GTS

This one was just displayed there.. no idea what is it to tell you the truth

A very nice Esprit V8 note also the nice ass to the right in the first pic, again not there for racing.

And another car that wasn't there for the slalom:

Ok finally the cars taking part in the race, let's start with a rare Renault Spider... not really the best paintjob I fear

Well, Lancers of course were pretty common although they aren't on the streets sadly

Two little pocket rockets

Pretty nice 911

Of course RWD cars are always a good bet, and luckily there were quite a few E30 M3

This E46 wasn't there for the race, but whatever it's nice

But of course the biggest part of the entrants were FF cars this one was a but above the others as for exclusivity

Also some bikes just to spice up the show.. the paintjob on the Busa is quite to much IMO! And the Boss Hoss? LOL it's the first time I see one in the metal.. terrible

How to ruin a nice car...

But time to see some action ok?

Well no need to comment every picture, just the "best ones" of course I didn't posted pics of every car since there were tons of similar 106, Saxo and Clios but well at least some, yes, we don't like in a supercars world sadly

Talk about liftoff oversteer

Uhm... not sure if the crappiest cars was this one:

Or this one

But who cares if they are not F355 the owners had fun for sure, that's the bottom line

Finally the first RWD cars and finally some oversteer

The only diesel car! A 330d

Probably the biggest and heaviest entrant

Another two "strange" cars. Maybe not the R32 (probably also the best sounding of the day ), but the C320 SC is completely in the wrong place even worst than the e39

And the smallest entrant slowest too I fear for him

BTW, just a few VTEC between Civics and Integras.. i was expecting more of them..

And another car that was strangely rare.. old MR2.. usually at such events you see lot of them

This one wasn't interested in the lap time at all the two pics are the before and after a perfect donut

More BMW power

Wiiiiide!

Sadly I missed the best part of the action here.. the Bimmer guy wanted to do a donut in front of the crowd... you can see in the first picture a hint of scandinavian flick but he forgot to check in his mirrors since the next car, a Polo G40 was already there... so after the first pic he started the donut, the noticed when he was pointing already backwards the other car, but was to late.. luckily the Polo managed to brake and as you can see in the second pic, the lad with the yellow jacket is calling him since he was allowed to re-do the run..

Time for some Japanese AWD power

This Sunny was sure very fast in the hands of a skilled driver

LOL this poor Xantia, because of its V6 engine was stuck in a class filled with Imprezas and lancers... ridicolous

The only proper trackweapon beside Speedsters and Spider...

For AL a small bunch of Minis tomorrow some of them will race I think

Oh and some videos for you.. remember, low quality since they are taken with a photo camera, res is still 640x480 though!

***DO NOT POST THESE URLS OUTSIDE JW PLEASE***

On the day's schedule I read BMW M3.. but not sure it was really one

This lad was the leader in his class despite the wide and 4-wheel drifts

An Impreza as for comparison

And an FF car too a classic Integra Type R

And finally, the F355, sadly no racng exhaust and quite quiet

Heheh the minis just for me 8) I like the MK1 or MK1 style blue mini on the left. also notice the quick release grille, which makes it slighly easier to service/ repair your mini- i have one and its very cool
Some other excellent pics, just one thing first what the hell is going on with those yellow wheels on the bike LOL

most ugly thing i've ever seen on wheels full stop LOL

My favoutites besides the minis obviously are the modial from your window(same ferrari garage guy?) and of course the 355 gts but i also this Clio V6 i like the colour alot

BTW anybody help us out and have any idea what this beast is

If those minis do race can you do me a HUUUUGE favour TT and try and get some vid footage pleaaaasse

**EDIT** forgot to mention the beautiful esprit with the beautiful ass on the right hand side nice

Ah LMAO yes, those yellow tires were quite strange.. around Lausanne I already saw some bikes with red and blue ones.. WTF?!?!?

Yes about the Mondial always the same guy

And yes, the Clio V6 was nice as always! To bad it wasn't the Mk II though

I will try to have some Mini vid for you tomorrow, but you saw the quality of the 5 I posted today... not really excellent and not very long since the cars quickly disappear

You are right I suppose and hell, I just discover that the car is basically a disguised Vette! With 454 ci engine, suspensions and such!

Thanks!

Yeah,I have seen some of those little races and they are pretty interesting actually.I saw the North American champion once in Ottawa, he had a Porsche RS America that he competed in and he destroyed Z06's,Vipers,and you name it and he killed it.
