Mercedes-Benz CL 65

This time Tiff goes (gets flown by helicopter) to Monaco.....aahhhh, closer to Heaven

The car is equipped with a 612 hp TT V12 tuned by AMG. THis is the same handcrafted engine we find in the Maybach, but tuned to produce more power, and to be more agressive.

http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame...ar.mv&num=1609<---ultimatecarpage.com presentation of the CL65

Tiff actually plays around with this car. He does a burnout and then starts cornering like a madman.

What Tiff doesn't like about this car is the automatic gear box, the fact that the engine only revs to 5500 rpm, and that it's limited to 155 mph top speed.
He doesn't seem to be too delighted by the car. He also takes it for a trip around what used to be the Monaco GP circuit, where he used to race a Jaguar. Only 20 of the SL65s will be sold in Britain.
Overall I liked this vid and I think you should all download it, because you won't be disappointed. It appears Tiff has also grown up....or it might be just his producer, or whoever writed his stuff: he has also matched the place where he tests the car with the car. The CL65 is suited for Monaco, as it's a show-off car, reserved for the very, very well-off.

Thanks for your interest (even if the pictures were a little on the large side) and review of the video which is done through choice rather than because you had to...thats a good example for others badmihai.

Its a nice car but that kind of power just makes it so unusable, also the £120k price tag is kind of on the expensive side

just watched it and heres my review.

my fav part of this vid was when tiff took the big powerful CL around the monaco circuit. very impressed with seeing it from a non-f1 drivers perspective. seeing the tight turns and imagining it being taken at very high speeds showed me how hard this track was and the skilled needed to drive on it. the cl65 fits perfectly on the roads of monaco and i liked it before this vid but was left with a mixed feeling after seeing it. all that horsepower adn it only goes .1 faster than the 500hp sl55? obviously the power is sensed in other areas of driving like overtakin a slow car on the road as jezza did in the continental gt but i was not that impressed with the extra power from this car, i would rather get the cl55 and with the extra money saved by a c-class sports coupe to get the mail from my driveway in my mansion. although if i did have the money to get it, i probably would get the cl65 cuz of what it really does, have bragging rights.

it wasnt made for track driving and tiff shouldnt criticize it cuz its a cruiser not a racer. it does its job well.

thanks jabba.

For those who missed it, Tiff was pretty much down on the car. He says it's too large and not nimble enough to be a truly engaging drive. He also dislikes the fact that the engine redlines at only 5800 rpm, which he feels isn't very exotic. He thinks the car is better as a display of wealth than anything else.

A more interesting part of the video was the insight into Tiff's racing history. He talks about driving an XJR-15 at Monaco--which for those who are aware of the XJR-15's "special" handling characteristics must have been terrifying. In his own words he calls them "evil old Jags" . He also says that the track feels very different in a road car--for example, the hill after the starting straight feels considerably steeper. What's really amazing is how narrow the whole thing is in a real car. Imagine driving around that at over 150 mph!!!
